Position: FULL-TIME Mechanic Location: 415 Zarfoss Drive, York, PA 17404 Rate of Pay: $20.09 per hour Schedule: 4 - 10 hour shifts. **Candidate will most likely work 8pm-6:30am - 4 days per week.** **NOTE DAYS/WORK TIMES COULD VARY BASED ON BID ASSIGNMENT.** Job Summary (Role in organization): The position is critical in assisting rabbittransit in meeting our mission of mobility. This position is responsible for performing general servicing, preventative maintenance, basic diagnosing and troubleshooting, and performing both minor and major repairs to maintain all fleet vehicles in good working order. Position also requires working along with other mechanics in major repairs and overhauls. Also performs state safety inspections as required by Penn DOT and ensures CPTA is in compliance with state and federal regulations. Receives complaints and requests for equipment service and makes evaluations; makes road calls to service disabled vehicles, as directed by management. The mechanic is responsible for maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Completes all necessary record-keeping and report preparation. The mechanic is responsible for meeting all attendance requirements according to bid, CBA, policy, and safety emergency response situations. CPTA is the County Emergency responder. Performs other duties as assigned. Basis of classification will be on panel interview and skills testing. Key/Reporting Relationship This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager. This position receives training, performs duties under supervision of the Class A or B Mechanic or Manager and works within general guidelines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Prepares for daily assignments by reviewing work orders as directed by class A, B technician and/or management. Works variable shifts, irregular hours and is available for work/overtime in accordance with bid, CBA, policy, and response to emergency situations. Complies with all safety policies and regulations. Uses proper safety procedures when raising vehicles using portable post lifts, jacks, hoist stands, and all other available equipment in the performance of all assigned work. Uses a variety of hand and power tools common to the trade. Wears personal protective equipment and complies with safety policies and procedures. Completes all safety training as required. Ensures that Authority vehicles are safe and in compliance with state and federal regulation as well as CPTA policies and procedures by performing PA state inspections and preventative maintenance inspections using checklists. Removes vehicles from service when necessary. Performs, but not limited to, greasing, lubrication, inspection and repair of all interior and exterior equipment and components on any vehicle owned by CPTA. Ensures timely repair of vehicles by completing routine maintenance and mechanical duties, under the supervision of Class andquot;Aandquot; or andquot;Bandquot; Maintenance Technicians and or management on all vehicle system and sub-system components including but not limited to engines, drive train, brakes, suspension and steering, electrical/electronic systems, heating ventilation and A/C as per ASE certification specifications. Completes all certifications to work on Authority fleet vehicles regardless of their type, fuel or component systems and sub-systems as soon as training is made available to them. Completes training for any newly introduced technologies or components. Controls downtime of vehicles by receiving complaints and requests for equipment service. Makes evaluations, service road calls to troubleshoot problems and makes minor on-site repairs and, as required, contacts management or higher class technician to make
