Robert Half's Full Charge Bookkeeper position is something you might be interested in. The Full Charge Bookkeeper position is a long-term contract / temporary opportunity in Woodbridge, Virginia. You will succeed in this position if you're confident you can establish and maintain the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives, as well as all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements.

How you will make an impact

  • Completing bank and general ledger reconciliations; processing payroll

  • Filing documents to maintain historical records

  • Tracking fixed assets and constructing depreciation schedules

  • Supervising tasks of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

  • Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections

  • Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close

  • Producing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet and statements of income and of cash flows

  • Following federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements, implementing adherence to requirements, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions Requirements - Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skill sets

    • Prior experience with Peachtree
  • Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds

  • 3 or more years of experience in the bookkeeping field

  • Deep understanding of Pivot Table

  • Microsoft Excel experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel

  • Expertise in Bookkeeping Functions

  • Solid understanding of QuickBooks

  • Proven knowledge of Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Previous experience with payroll preferred

  • Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports

  • Proficient in accrual and cash basis of accounting

  • High school diploma or equivalent, AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred
