Job Description

You will be accountable as the key account manager for a number of industry customers for the BD Biosciences portfolio. This will include responsibility for a range of flow cytometry instruments, reagents and services across the BD portfolio for these accounts. This role will report to the Regional Sales Manager and be responsible for the described territory and customers within the UK & Ireland region.

About You

The successful individual will be educated to degree level or equivalent in either cell biology, immunology, haematology or a related subject and/or have several years laboratory experience. Experience with flow cytometry would be a distinct advantage but is not crucial.

5+ years of sales experience is desirable, including a technical background to facilitate training to understand your customer and flow cytometry. You must be motivated to achieve individual and team sales targets, be a great teammate and have strong coordinating and interpersonal skills.

Main Responsibilities

  • To ensure the growth targets for the BDB business are met on their territory within the BD product ranges through direct negotiation, sales activities, attendance at exhibitions, organisation of on site meetings/demonstrations and technical support.

  • Be knowledgeable across the industry customers in terms of applications of flow cytometry, market dynamics and procurement practices.

  • Map Industry Key Accounts to identify and engage with key departments and stakeholders, in order to discover new business development opportunities that leverage BD products, services and support.

  • Cultivate and expand relationships across key industry accounts and support functions to create new opportunities and win-win solutions that elevate perceived value of BD an integrated partner

  • Develop long-term partnering relationships within UK Key Accounts across different levels and functions within the organisations.

  • Joint creation and execution of Key Account plans with annual objectives in close collaboration with customers, the Strategic Account Manager and UKI Marketing Team

  • Support strategic account review meetings with industry stakeholders, including alignment of customer needs with BD strategic capabilities and KPI reviews.

  • Support and coach broader sales organisation to help them develop strategic agreements in broader Industry accounts.

Desired Experiences and/or Qualifications

  • BSc/Msc or equivalent in a Life Science discipline or a related subject and/or have several years of laboratory experience

  • Having experience or knowledge in a T-cell therapy related area would be an advantage. It would be an advantage to have experience of selling research and/or clinical products and services into Pharma, Biotech and Contract Research accounts.
