Responsibilities

1.Primarily responsible for developing, coordinating, and monitoring pharmaceutical processes and

activities for safe and effective care of patients.

  1. Assures staffing needs through hiring, supervising, training, scheduling, and payroll process for West

Des Moines pharmacy personnel.

  1. Prepare and manage budget and productivity for assigned areas of responsibility.

  2. Prepare and revise policy and procedures and implement changes to assure compliance to regulation of

governing bodies to include joint commission, state board and federal entities.

  1. Represent pharmacy at hospital or medical staff committees as assigned by the Market Director.

  2. Liaison to the rural affiliates within MercyOne Health Network of central Iowa.

  3. Implement, develop and participate in pharmacy quality management activities, to include the use of

statistical analysis to measure outcomes.

  1. Compile, maintain and interpret records required by regulation and department reporting.

  2. Collaborate with hospital department leadership to improve services within area of responsibility to

resolve problems and improve patient care.

Qualifications

  • Pharmacy degree (BS or Pharm.D.) from an ACPE approved college of pharmacy.Masters in Health Care or Business Administration preferred.Residency in hospital pharmacy accredited by ASHP or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

  • Licensed, or eligible for licensure, in the state of Iowa.

  • BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
