Data Security Specialist (Secret clearance required)
Position Summary:
Sirius Federal, LLC, a subsidiary of Sirius Computer Solutions, Inc., is looking for Data Security Specialist, with a current Secret security clearance, to work on client site located in Washington, DC (position is remote during covid-19 and will return to full-time onsite after covid-19).
The primary purpose of this position is to provide support to plan, coordinate, and implement the organization’s information security policy. Helping agencies identify their current security infrastructure and define future programs, design and implementation of firewall and other related security issues on LANs/WANs.
A working knowledge of several of the following areas is required: understanding of business security practices and procedures; knowledge of current security tools available; hardware/software firewalls and their implementation; different communication protocols; encryption techniques/tools; familiarity with commercial products (ex. - Domain Name Systems, public–key encryption technology, Smartcard, Cyberguard, TimeStep).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Knowledge of overall security industry trends and Federal customer security compliance requirements
Strong hands on experience with firewalls
SIEM/SOC experience
Technical documentation
Risk tolerance / assessments / IT audits
Basic Qualifications:
A current SECRET security clearance is required.
At least (5) years’ experience in IT Security
Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent related experience.
Knowledge of Federal IT practices / specific to Security
Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF), FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST Security controls (800-53 etc.) and Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)
At least (2+) years’ of FISMA and Information Assurance related experience
Other Position Requirements:
- Must meet DoD 8570 requirements - Security+, CCNP, or related Security certifications
Preferred Qualifications:
CISSP or equivalent certification
Experience with Cloud technologies, especially Azure
Demonstrated ability to interface with system stakeholders.
Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities, and tasks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
Strong communications skills and business acumen.
Understanding and expertise in FISMA requirements and reporting
Ability to understand and address technical issues and synthesize into actionable terms from a business perspective.
Working knowledge of MS Office business applications.
