ABOUT THE JOBThe Certified Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC) is comprised of several community based programs providing direct care to over 3,200 clients annually – both on site and in the community.The CCBHC is comprised of several community based programs providing direct care to over 3,200 clients annually, both on site and in the community.The Nursing Supervisor assigned to the CCBHC is responsible for the complete nursing care and the performing of all routine medical procedures within the scope of the nursing practice for the clients under his/her charge. The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the day to day supervision of the program's nursing and direct support staff regarding all medical procedures. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing all aspects of the medical/nursing department(s) in assigned programs

  • Implementing and integrating medical protocols into the management of client medical diagnoses

  • Supervising other nursing staff in the execution of the medical protocols in compliance with NYS regulations

  • Preforming medical documentation reviews to ensure the program is audit ready

  • Administering medication to clients within scope of practice in compliance with NYS regulations

  • Acting as medical representative at mental health team meetings

  • Responsible for the medical component of regulatory and COA audits/compliance

  • Taking a leadership role in client education programs on relevant health related issues

  • Ensuring that the program maintains policies and procedures that align with program regulations, and that adequate workflows and documentation are reflected in both the policies and practices

  • Responsible for verification that hospitalized clients receive timely and appropriate care

  • Functioning as a clinical liaison within an interdisciplinary team of medical/psychiatric providers, social workers, care coordinators, case managers and peers

  • Coordinating, preparing and distributing all routine administrative medical reports, as required by any licensing and/or regulatory bodies

  • Providing on-call support for the program

  • Other duties as assigned

TO QUALIFYThe Jewish Board is currently looking for talented Supervising Nurses of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications:

  • Minimum education level of a BSN or RN, 2-3 years clinical/behavioral health experience

  • Some Supervisory experience preferred.

  • Position may require specialized expertise in the area of mental health, developmental disorders, crisis intervention, AIDS or infectious disease or other areas as deemed appropriate for the program's needs.

  • Should be familiar with standard reporting requirements as dictated by those bodies to whom the division is accountable.

  • Prior experience with electronic health records and Microsoft Office
