The Role

The Professional Services Sr Consultant will oversee implementations and consultative engagements for Proofpoint Information Protection (Email DLP, Endpoint DLP, Insider Threat Management, CASB). This individual will develop new services, outline, and implement best practices, and assist in customer escalations as needed. The ideal candidate has the demonstrated ability to ensure successful service delivery and customer success.

Proofpoint’s Sr Consultants are service delivery experts who manage and align client business priorities with data protection strategies. As subject matter experts on a wide spectrum of information security models, best practices, and operational strategies, our Sr Consultants reduce clients’ security risk by mapping technology to organizational processes and resources. This role is challenged with delivering innovative ideas and solutions that derive measurable results.

This is a critical and visible role as it involves support for several of Proofpoint’s top accounts. The Sr Consultant must be confident in working with executive level (board, chief, and vice president echelon) service delivery and communication to include product deliverables, conference calls/meetings, consulting process interviews/workshops, and briefings. The position requires the ability to work with non-technical managers and executives to develop technical and business requirements for their company’s custom data security program.

Your day-to-day

  • Optimize select technologies by assessing the client’s operations and business processes, gathering key business and functional requirements, and making recommendations for improvements.

  • Provide strategic program design solutions that allow clients to identify, protect, monitor, and manage their most protected data, and people.

  • Work with the broader Professional Services, Support, Engineering and Product teams, to address customer concerns and manage escalations.

  • Work closely with your corresponding sales organization to ensure customer needs are met and customer satisfaction continues to rank high.

  • Present updates to management identifying risks, challenges, and proposed solutions.

What you bring to the team

  • Minimum of 3 years consulting experience (Data Loss Prevention, Endpoint Security or Cloud Security focus preferred)

  • Must be able to clearly write and explain concepts in documentation and deliverables

  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills

  • Experience defining, implementing, and maintaining consulting best practices

  • Dedication to client service with a confident, comfortable in-person and virtual presence

  • Demonstrated organizational skills with rigorous attention to detail

  • Self-motivated with ability to manage and follow up on multiple tasks simultaneously
