To succeed in this role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. The ideal candidate for this role will be comfortable participating in compliance, interacting with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. This is a position you will thrive in, if you have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

  • Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable

  • Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

  • Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on

  • Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision

  • Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

  • Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

  • Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives

  • Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation Requirements - Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Budget forecasting experience preferred

  • Financial statement preparation experience desired

  • Strong familiarity with general ledger

  • Journal entries experience required

  • Experience with budget forecasting

  • 5+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Efficient in ERP systems

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
