Philips NBX (Venture) Director Program Management in United States of America - Home Based, Massachusetts

In the role of Program Manager , you have the opportunity execute and lead projects on NBX venture related topics applying professional principles, practices, and techniques to lead cross geography, business and market project teams. While working collaboratively with relevant strategic stakeholders they develop and execute program plans, schedules, budgets, deliverables and performance risks related to transformational NBX program. Deliver transparency through reporting and communication and overseeing quality control throughout the program life cycle. Is responsible for ensuring compliance with the relevant internal/ external policies, procedures and standards. Supervises resources, selects, develops, coaches and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the program. Sets targets for and tracks performance indicators on program. Works closely with business venture leader to manage stakeholder communication and change management related to capabilities.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to ;

  • Gives direction and enables complex, integral programs, interacts with multiple Businesses and / or Knowledge Centers inside and outside

  • Has responsibility and authority to contribute to the financial results for the new business.

  • Builds and maintains the program organization, chooses the ways of working, and defines the interfaces with other functions globally.

  • Defines the portfolio of projects associated with the program and their goals, in consultation with management and relevant stakeholders, as input to the performing organization to manage the project pipeline, estimates the budgets and risks to be managed with business venture leader.

  • Keeps up-to-date with the evolving business and application domain in order to optimize the goals of program and maximize the synergy.

  • Deploys Process Improvement and Quality Assurance and makes the program organization efficient and transparent, in line with business and program processes.

  • Ensures cross-pollination, manages lessons learned, incorporates continuous improvement, facilitates harmonization across functions and departments

  • Provides business management with regular program performance status, variances to plan and identification of corrective actions, reports on performance to the hierarchical superior for the purpose of appraisal and conducts evaluation at the end of the program. Ensures all steps, milestones and of NBX process is followed and documented, meeting all stage gates.

  • Strategic value and risk management: Identifying the important value drivers and key risks, ensuring those involved do not lose focus on strategic aspects, and leading efforts to mitigate risks and accelerate value creation.

  • Change management: Anticipating upcoming changes in project stages or collaboration participants, managing transitions smoothly, as well as facilitating complex discussions with the customers to map a way forward when unanticipated situations or corporate decisions in either party trigger issues in the Program delivery of the Pilot.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

  • Program direction comes from NBX Venture Leader for Business.

Requirements ;

  • Knowledge of project management methods in Philips (e.g. PMBOK) and of estimation techniques (resources, time and risks) for the relevant functions / disciplines

  • BSc/BA diploma in management or a relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus

  • PMP certified

  • Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of program/project management software (Basecamp, MS Project etc.) is a strong advantage

  • Staffing, Planning, People Management, Managing Profitability, Promoting Process Improvement, Financial Planning and Strategy, Dealing with Complexity, Analyzing Information , Vision, Performance Management

  • Typically 10+ years of experience in the job

  • Experience with Philips Integrated Landscape tools (Planisware, Clarity, Qlikview) or ability to learn basics of project management therein

SKILLS / MINDSET

  • Domain knowledge and understanding of the relevant disciplines

  • Knowledge of project management methods in Philips (e.g. PMBOK) and of estimation techniques (resources, time and risks) for the relevant functions / disciplines

  • Knowledge of the organization’s capabilities on program management (from the historical database) for future programs, capturing lessons learned, incorporating continuous improvement, facilitating harmonization across functions and departments

  • Knows and applies the guidelines for Sponsors and Stakeholders of projects

  • Demonstrated experience of adequate soft-skills, especially in leading teams to clarify new venture impacts, risk identification and mitigations

  • Manages multi-site, cross-functional programs

  • Responsible for synergy between projects within the program

  • Influencing change and transformational activity strategy to support the major shift in business strategy

  • Influences the funding of all projects and investments in the program

  • Responsible for synergy between the projects within the program
