Business Description: Fiserv Mortgage Director is seeking a passionate, creative, and self-starter software engineer with the ability to solve complex software problems. This role will drive the modernization of our next generation Loan Origination System (LOS). You will be part of a strategic team to help develop our next generation LOS. This position will report directly to the Manager of Software Development.

Essential Job Responsibilities :

Create well-designed, documented, and tested software features that meet customer requirements Contribute to the development, testing, maintenance, and integration of our Loan Origination System (LOS) and other backend applications. Participate in software development planning, scheduling, and execution of development activities to meet business goals and objectives Leverages modern development methodologies (e.g. - Scrum, Kanban) Gain knowledge of various development approaches and assisting with the design of ground-up projects and enhancements Participate in an agile delivery team, helping to ensure the technical quality of the features delivered across the team are met, including documentation, testing strategies, and code Help determine technical feasibility and solutions for business requirements Promote and drive innovation in technologies, processes, and tools Mentor more junior developers with best practices and current development techniques Remain up to date on emerging technologies and architecture and propose ways to use them in current and upcoming projects Lead and promote ideas to maintain a continuous improvement culture within the engineering organization Leverage technical knowledge to improve the quality and efficiency of product applications and tools Champion a culture of transparency, continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical degree

  • 3-5 years of software development experience using object-oriented languages such as C#/.Net or Delphi

  • Experience developing within distributed systems or REST-based microservice architectures required

  • Demonstrated understanding with continuous integration and delivery concepts.

  • Proven experience applying current software design patterns and principles

  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in development best practices: design reviews, unit testing, refactoring, code reviews, and documentation

  • Experience using source control systems like Git, SVN and a strong working knowledge of source control best practices, such as merge conflict resolution and branching strategies.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in creating technical documentation.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting workflows, tools, or complex areas of a codebase

  • Able to challenge yourself, learn from others, and strive to grow professionally every day.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest and ability to learn other coding languages, such as Delphi, Python, etc.

  • Understanding of distributed, service oriented, microservices, and cloud-based applications architecture (SaaS).

  • Familiar with SQL database architectures and integrations

  • Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP products and development practices using those offerings.

  • Understanding of advanced development practices, such as TDD, feature flags/code isolation, profiling, debugging live systems

  • Experience developing mortgage loan originating systems (LOS) and/or working knowledge of the US mortgage industry and workflows.

Travel Required : Occasionally for training first year, with time it may increase up to 15% on business need basis

Work Schedule: Regular work schedule Mon-Fri, and afterhours and weekends on business need.
