OVERVIEW:

The Security Engineer is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and support of technology and security infrastructure within a global enterprise. The candidate will support multiple security related projects and technologies, interfacing with others within the IT organization as well as other internal business units. The Security Engineer must have an experienced background with hands on experience in multiple information security tools, disciplines and ecosystems. The Security Engineer will assist in ensuring the confidentiality, availability and integrity of the technology infrastructure in support of the security mission.

What will your job look like?

  • Performs daily monitoring, analysis and evaluation of information security operations to ensure the maintenance of the targeted security posture

  • Deploys and maintains security tools and appliances within the enterprise

  • Performs daily administration of security tools and applications; monitors logs and reports detected security events

  • Completes regular testing of security offerings; reports and resolves issues

  • Executes vulnerability assessments and assists IT operations with remediation planning and implementation

  • Contributes to incident management and response

  • Assists with the creation of security policies and procedures

  • Creates and maintains security documentation and records

  • Assists in the planning and completion of security and technology centric projects

  • Other duties as assigned

All you need is...

  • 4-6 years of relevant work experience within systems infrastructure and security disciplines; media experience a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline preferred

  • SANS/GIAC/CISSP certifications a plus

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to learn new skills with minimal guidance

  • Knowledge of best practices in developing security standards and processes

  • Experience with security tools and appliances including endpoint protection, code analysis and vulnerability scanning

  • Basic understanding of enterprise networking and related security processes

  • Proven experience with Windows/Linux/Unix/MacOS operating systems architecture

  • Experience with log management or SIEM reporting tools a plus

  • Basic understanding of in flight and at rest encryption

  • Solid team player with a "can do" attitude.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail

  • Understanding and ability to communicate and work with security concepts and solutions
