U.S. Army Joint Munitions Command Security Specialist (AT/FP/Physical) in Tooele Army Depot, Utah

Summary About the Position: Position serves as the Tooele Army Depot Antiterrorism Force Protection/Physical Security Specialist responsible for developing/implementing a security program to protect DoD personnel, facilities, automated information and assets from an entire spectrum of threats including terrorism by assessing Antiterrorism/Force Protection/Physical Security needs. Responsibilities Monitor program effectiveness and implement corrective/protective measures through identifying vulnerabilities/weaknesses, improvements, countermeasures and priorities for the development of Tooele Army Depots security posture and policies. Develop the Force Protection plan/program providing and updating new policy and counter measures Develop policies, procedures and methods for planning, coordinating, conducting and interfacing the different aspects of Force Protection. Provide the Director and Commander information results from studies and special surveys conducted evaluating issues of vulnerability, crisis management, responses to increased threat, consequence management, and changes in Force Protection. Represent the organization as a technical expert formulating program guidance for implementing various methods in order to meet particular security program objectives. Develop, coordinate, analyze, and publish security plans, e.g., threat analyses. Conduct pre-Physical Security Survey (conventional ammunition and general depot security) inspections to assure compliance with regulations and established standards. Develop and establish an Installation Force Protection Training Program on terrorist threats and protective systems for military, civilian, tenant housing, family members and contractor personnel. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing installation Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Plans and/or policies; developing and/or executing annual installation level exercises to test unit compliance and/or readiness in accordance with published force protection/anti-terrorism plans; providing technical guidance and/or assistance on physical security plans, procedures, and program standards to senior level officials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
