J&J Family of Companies Associate Director, Medical Affairs- Brand Strategy in Titusville, New Jersey

The Associate Director is an integral leader within US Medical affairs (MAF) Brand Strategy Team. This individual is a pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and Janssen Pulmonary Hypertension product medical expert and will lead key medical affairs functions and initiatives of data generation and data dissemination strategies. These responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Function as a lead scientific resource for PAH and JPH product

  • Support the development and implementation of the brand strategy Medical plan

  • Lead Medical Affairs studies, research projects and publications in alignment with brand strategy

  • Day to day project management for activities based on the Medical Affairs Plan

  • Develop appropriate Medical Reports

  • Develops and aligns Advisory Board strategy, executes Advisory Boards

  • Maintains relationships with external investigators and opinion leaders.

  • Ensures development of scholarly publications arising from Janssen Medical Affairs studies, product monographs and responses to product inquiries.

  • Support the development of compliant promotional and proactive materials, including copy approval process responsibilities

  • Responsible for training of internal and external product representatives

  • Responsible for ensuring that all Medical Affairs activities are compliant with regulatory and HCC policies and processes

  • Stays abreast of the emerging and established scientific, regulatory, clinical recommendations and program implementation landscape related to PAH

  • In close collaboration with the Senior Director, lead the design, development and implementation of programs related to educational, promotional, and reporting

  • Supports activities that translate to timely and positive interactions with external partners and organizations, including the Key Scientific Leaders and professional societies

  • Supports the training, education, and scientific communication needs of Medical Affairs colleagues and other Janssen stakeholders

  • Support the Senior Director of Medical Affairs in development of the annual medical plan and timely execution of medical tactics assigned to the role.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a MD, PhD or PharmD is required.

  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience of which 5 years are pharmaceutical / biotech industry in medical affairs or clinical development is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of PAH, pulmonary medicine and critical care is preferred

  • Strong scientific acumen and experience regarding clinical research, clinical trial design and management of medical affairs functions required

  • Medical plans, publications, phase IIIb/IV programs, investigator initiated studies, educational grants, Scientific material creation

  • Knowledge of health care ecosystem is required

  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and resources (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and virtual platforms are required

  • Ability to travel within and outside of the US as needed is preferred (when travel is permitted by company post pandemic)
