Aerotek R&D Associate in Tarrytown, New York
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Research Associate/Specialist to join the Immuno-Oncology team during this exciting time as the field makes major advances harnessing the power of the immune system to fight cancer. You will be responsible for characterizing and validating novel anti-tumor therapeutics, including both antibody-based and cellular therapies, by carrying out in vitro experiments at the bench in the laboratory and in vivo experiments in small animal models. The candidate will utilize standard cell culture techniques and will execute a variety of assays, including ELISA analyses. We are looking for a candidate with laboratory experience using standard cellular biology/immunology/cell-culture techniques. Experience with handling small animals (mice) for research is preferred.
As a Temporary-R&D Associate in Immuno-Oncology, a typical day may include the following:
Cell culture, including passaging, expanding, cryopreservation, thawing and processing of cells
Perform various immunoassay techniques (e.g., ELISAs and cell purification)
Assist with tumor studies in mouse models
Organization of studies, data analysis, communication of results to colleagues
elisa, cell biology, cell culture, molecular biology, in vitro, tissue culture, cell line
Top Skills Details:
Minimum BS Molecular Biology or related field
At least 1 to 2 years' research/hands-on laboratory experience (3 to 5 preferred)
In Vitro Techniques: ELISA, cell culture, growing cell lines
Experience working with mice
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
BS Molecular Biology or related field and at least 1 to 2 years of experience working in a research laboratory environment.
Experience with in vitro techniques, such as ELISA assays, and experience working with sterile cell culture techniques for the growth and maintenance of cell lines.
Experience with pre-clinical tumor models in mice, including mouse handling and tissue dissection, is preferred.
Ability to manage multiple experiments simultaneously
Competent in standard scientific software used for data analysis (e.g., Microsoft Excel and Prism), as well as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
