Eaton Corporation FP&A Analyst in Syracuse, New York

Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to join our team. This position is based at our Syracuse, NY facility. U.S remote office and telework will be considered for alternate Eaton site.

Position Overview:

Eaton’s Crouse Hinds, B-Line, Oil & Gas North America team has an exciting opportunity for an FP&A Analyst who will play in integral role in providing Corporate, Division, and Business Unit management with reliable financial analysis to make decisions impacting the financial performance of the corporation. This role, reporting to the North America Commercial Controller, will be responsible for analyzing orders and sales trends by customer and product line, analyzing special pricing agreements, building business cases for new product innovation (NPI) projects, and bridging the analytics using product statistics and margin analysis at the product line level.

In this role, you will:

  • Implement best practices as it relates to financial planning and analysis including processes, systems, tools, and techniques by working collaboratively within the department to propose and implement process improvement ideas to enable more accurate and faster reporting

  • Prepare, review, and analyze commercial forecasts, operating budgets, and strategic plans

  • Perform Business Unit month-end closing procedures, complete account reconciliations, and journal entries

  • Daily monitoring of orders and sales performance versus forecast, profit plan, and prior year with a focus on customer, region, and product line breakdowns

  • Advise Commercial and PLM leadership to communicate and analyze orders and sales which includes evaluating pricing initiatives, standardizing customer and product line reporting, the development and execution of growth initiatives, and the establishment of vertical market analysis

  • Partner with FP&A on NPI and support the development of business cases, gate reviews, and capital requirements

  • Support the Commercial team in analyzing and understanding the competitor landscape including analysis of external financials (where available)

  • Weekly pulse updates for sales and margin analysis

  • Lead special projects on an ad-hoc basis

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business and/or Finance from accredited institution

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in accounting and/or finance

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA

  • Financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment with background in FP&A and/or Cost Accounting

  • Experience with SAP, Business Warehouse, Hyperion Enterprise, Hyperion Financial Manager (HFM)
