Kelly Services ACCOUNTANT in St Petersburg, Florida

ACCOUNTANT NEEDED IN ST. PETE, FL

PAY RATE: $25.67/hr.

HOURS: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The Accountant, Global Accounts Receivable is responsible for maintaining the accounts receivable and revenue accounting records for regional corporate entities. This includes reconciling system interfaces, preparing journal entries and supporting schedules, analyzing monthly revenue reasonableness, and distributing revenue reports to business partners. The Accountant is also the primary customer and business partner contact for inquiries and issues in regard to billing invoices and fee calculations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain accounts receivable and revenue accounting records for regional corporate entities, including reconciliation of system interfaces, preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules, analysis of revenue reasonableness.

  • Distribute ongoing reporting packages and ad hoc reporting to business partners in portfolio management, client services, business development, finance and corporate accounting.

  • Represent the department in new client on-boardings and subsequent amendments of client accounts.

  • Act as the primary customer and business partner contact for inquiries and issue resolution. This includes resolving account discrepancies by investigating documentation, following up with customers and posting adjustments.

  • Partner with operational counterpart in the shared service center on new account set up and amendments, fee calculations, billings, cash receipts and/or commission expense calculations.

  • Coordinate the distribution of billing invoices to customers.

  • Participate in department projects and/or cross-departmental projects.

  • Participate in the maintenance of the department internal controls and policy and procedures.

  • Assist supervisor with managing periodic internal and external reporting deadlines, audit requests, and staff development.

Ideal candidates will have:

Knowledge, Education, & Experience:

  • Three to five years of accounting experience.

  • Bachelor with a focus in accounting or finance.

  • Basic knowledge of GAAP.

  • Highly developed organizational as well as interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel

  • SOX experience in financial services

  • Experience with performance fees calculation

  • Experience with automated financial systems, including the general ledger.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, especially for Excel, Word, and SharePoint.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation is preferred

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

  • Financial Services Industry experience.

  • PeopleSoft Financials experience.
