Johnson & Johnson Consumer, Inc. is recruiting for an Associate Director, Global Customer Insights & Analytics in the Consumer Business Intelligence (CBI) function located in Skillman, NJ.

The Associate Director, Customer Insights & Analytics is a critical leadership role responsible for creating the vision and execution for the Global Customer Insights team. This person will be responsible for creating and delivering an end-to-end insights and analytics roadmap that integrates global omni-channel retail landscape, category growth plans to facilitate J&J-retailer joint value creation opportunities, global retailer segmentation frameworks, integrating customer data with J&J systems thereby creating a holistic and global strategic insights and analytics capability across J&J. This role will also interact with key retailers to influence their strategy and plans that drive category growth and growth of J&J brands.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Associate Director, Global Customer Insights & Analytics collaborates closely with the Global Sales & Customer (retailer) Engagement team to lead and drive global customer insights and analytics needs. She/he defines a strategy and learning plan to facilitate the global customer (retailer) goals and objectives, executes key prioritized research studies across identified countries and brands. She/he combines existing data and research with new insights and category/retailer trends to drive category and business growth and become a trusted partner to J&J’s retailer partners. She/he demonstrates excellent communication and partners collaboratively with lead market, regional and global business teams to drive these initiatives into action. This role covers quantitative and qualitative research and leveraging/integrating of advanced analytics capabilities that feed into the development and execution of strategies that drive J&J’s customer/retailer strategy and objectives.

Specifics:

  • Leader for the application and integration of all global CBI (Consumer Business Intelligence) capabilities and knowledge to drive the global customer/retailer strategies. Manages complex business issues and helps the team set strategic direction. Acts as a business leader and partner, not just a market research specialist.

  • Uses knowledge of key macro trends and leads understanding of consumer, shopper, category, market and competitive landscape to address business issues; Lead global customer and shopper segmentation studies, Leads and applies understanding of brand/category/shopper fundamentals to assess category insights, consumer & shopper behavior and assists in category/brand strategies development. Integrates retailer, customer & category data and advanced commercial analytics with consumer journeys and category insights and recommend optimum customer strategies for our global retailers (customers).

  • Uses a broad range of research and analytics tools to assess business issues and develops the most appropriate learning plan to address business needs; Evaluates and incorporates new/emerging/real-time research tools; Provide thought leadership through superior story-telling.

  • Integrates knowledge from multiple sources and creates recommendations that address business issues. Ensures alignment with key business partners (including global customer, country and regional leaders and top tier mass customer teams).

  • Effectively guides cross-functional team members to an objective viewpoint and influences leadership in the implementation of action steps to drive the business. Communicates complex issues with impact and clarity. Maintains a constructive approach to conflict. Independently works with key global stakeholders on specific market/customer projects.

  • Drives agility and integrates best practice learning and global standards to ensure ‘best-in-class’ performance. Assesses the supplier landscape and recruits/develops new suppliers who can provide new ways of working that can give J&J a competitive advantage.

Qualifications

  • A Minimum 8 years experience in Market Research (Insights and Analytics) is required.

  • A Bachelor's degree is required; Post-graduate degree or equivalent in Market Research, Business, Social Sciences or Statistics is preferred.

  • At least 3 years in a Customer / Retailer / Shopper Insights role is a plus.

  • Deep and broad understanding of Global Retailers like Walmart, Amazon, Tesco, Watsons, Carrefour and experience in closely working with these customers and internal customer teams.

  • Proven track record of driving business by leveraging both insights and analytics.

  • Demonstrates ability to influence cross-functional and upper management to impact decision-making; Willingness to “have an opinion” backed up by insight and analytics and the confidence to influence key stakeholders in meetings and one to one basis

  • Outstanding communication skills; Ability to think analytically to understand complex or ambiguous problems or issues and communicate solutions/conclusions clearly and concisely; Story Telling and Data visualization skills are a must

  • Technical market research and analytical expertise and conversant in a range of quantitative and qualitative ad hoc research techniques and syndicated business analyses. Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret and apply advanced analytics to solve business issues
