The News Desk Associate Producer is an essential team member in the newsroom, ensuring CNBC offers world-class content on global business and finance through guest interviews. This position is ideal for those who have keen interests in global economy, international relations, financial markets businesses as well as investments. The News Desk Associate Producer enjoys interacting with people, is able to ask tough, intelligent and balanced questions to high profile key stakeholders in the global business and finance industry. The successful candidate consistently strives to acquire new knowledge and skills, has perseverance and is resilient.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• At least 5 years of experience in news/current affairs with interest in business news
• Track record of securing business/political interviews is essential; experience in securing big, exclusive interviews is preferred
• Has good contacts across Asia’s business community or governments is an advantage
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge in global markets would be advantageous
• A team player who displays flexibility to work varied hours depending on business needs
• Ability to handle deadline pressures and work under the demands of daily live shows
• Fluency in English is essential
