As Head of Data Privacy for SEA, you will have the responsibility to counsel and guide SEA Cluster & Pakistan Novartis Organisation on privacy related matters and to coordinate the respective activities relating to local privacy, data protection laws, Novartis Global Data Privacy Program, policies and guidelines. Key Responsibilities • Understand and apply the data privacy and data protection legal and regulatory rules in connection with the business and corporate activities undertaken by the SEA & Pakistan (the “Cluster”) Novartis Organization (all legal entities and Business Units and Divisions); • Raise continuous awareness and drive the application of the Novartis Global Privacy Policy across the Novartis SEA & Pakistan Organization in accordance with local legal and regulatory requirements; • Manage the Novartis Privacy Risk program for all Divisions, including Novartis Customer Technology Solution functions or Group functions (including ONCE – One Novartis Company Controls, Safeguards and Privacy risk management program and policy requirements); • Contact person for data privacy questions and Global & International Region initiatives in respect to local data privacy; • Ensure, coordinate and support appropriate data privacy organization at country level supported by the AC Country Legal Head and the Head Data Privacy, Country Operations, International; • Coordinate privacy compliance activities, including privacy compliance assessments; • Collaborate and communicate efficiently with Data Privacy counterparts in Global Data Privacy and in the International Data Privacy Region to support the implementation of the privacy program in line with local laws and business needs; • Support the business to comply with local privacy and data protection laws and Novartis policies and guidelines; • Support local organizations to handle inspections, audits and data privacy incidents according to legal requirements and internal policies and procedures • Drive and coordinate the development of appropriate written local policies, procedures and training programs; \n\n\n\n Position Title: Head Data Privacy, SEA Minimum requirements: What you’ll bring to the role • Minimum Bachelors Degree in business, law, finance or any other relevant studies. Postgraduate degree would be an advantage. • Hands on experience in working with regulations or legal issues relating data privacy and possess good knowledge of privacy and data protection laws. • Must have 5-8 years of experience in area of compliance, risk management, internal audit, data privacy, data security, imparting training, etc in a global MNC environment with regional responsibilities. • Experience in a highly regulated industry such as pharmaceutical, medical devices, banking would be preferred. • Good business acumen and learning agility, ability to collaborate and work well with senior stakeholders, great communication skills and ability to identify issues and understand business needs.
