Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a District Logistics Manager for our Northwest district. This individual will drive associate engagement, productivity and continuous process improvements on the Fleet, warehousing and Distribution side of our business.
- District is comprised of Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho with direct reporting of 5-6 service centers ranging in size from 50k square feet to 150k square feet.Preferred home base in Seattle, WA or Portland, OR.
Lead and promote the development of associates and management by demonstrating a strong working knowledge of distribution logistics and operations.
Responsible for promoting and delivering a safe work environment based on our internal quality standards and under the direction of our National Health and Safety leadership.
Engaging the team to deliver productivity goals for the WMS locations across the district.
Accountable for WMS warehouse activities centering on process improvement, productivity enhancement and internal/external customer service culture.
Direct supervision to include:
Western Washington appliance hub and district pipe hub (Seattle, WA).
Direct supervision of appliance installation service/team in 8 markets across the district.
HR ownership of D04 WMS main location warehouses.
Recommend policies and programs which guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and profitability of the operation.
Ensure the safety and security of the locations in accordance with OSHA guidelines. Enforces all policies, procedures, and regulations as set forth by Ferguson.
Occasional overnight travel
This position requires a result oriented, high energy, multifaceted individual with high energy, emotional intelligence and intellect to work and thrive in a fast paced, high growth Market Distribution Centers .
8+ years direct management / leadership experience in a large warehouse operating environment, including a salaried workforce in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment with a proven success .
E-commerce fulfillment experience (direct to consumer) a plus.
Experience with automated WMS, TMS systems and other mechanized processes in a distribution environment.
Excellent proactive communication skills with all levels of management and staff is imperative .
Experience with activity based performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean thinking with a track record of delivering ‘best in class’ operations and performance .
Ability to collaborate with business leaders and peers across the organization to anticipate, identify, recommend, and implement creative operational and customer service solutions.
Direct, fair, and consistent approach to associate communication and interaction .
Strong customer service and collaborative style .
