The Boeing Company is seeking Crane Maintenance Mechanics with significant experience maintaining overhead cranes to join our team in Seattle, WA, Renton, WA, Kent, WA, Auburn, WA, Tukwila, WA, SeaTac, WA or Puyallup, WA location.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, maintain, repair, rebuild, retrofit, modify, assemble/disassemble, troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose, calibrate, adjust, and test mechanical systems and or subsystems of all types of cranes such as, but not limited to, cab operated, radio controlled, jib type, pendant operated

  • Understand/work in compliance with CSMP and other applicable codes, regulations, and standards for overhead cranes

  • Maintain, adjust, install and repair, hydraulic, pneumatic and electric brake system components on cranes and bridges as requires. Inspect and maintain building runway rails and expansion joints

  • Maintain mechanical crane and hoist systems including cables, chain, sheaves and hooks

  • Schedule and prepare for the operational and load tests of cranes and bridges as required by engineering, all applicable codes and regulations

  • Use schematics, blueprints, sketches, manuals, technical documents, written information, verbal information, applicable procedures, codes and ordinances

  • Operate and utilize mechanical, test equipment and test systems, precision devices in failure analysis, all forms of predictive/preventative technologies, as required on cranes

  • Operate, use and maintain overhead maintenance work platforms

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options .

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience using schematics, blueprints, sketches, manuals, technical documents, written information, verbal information, applicable procedures, codes and ordinances.

  • 3+ years of experience maintaining mechanical cranes and hoists systems including cables, chain sheaves and hooks

  • Ability to pass to complete fall protection training and work with heights of seventy feet or more and not exceed weight restrictions

  • Ability to obtain Crane Maintenance Certification within 6 months of obtaining position.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 2+ years of experience with overhead cranes

  • 1 + years of experience inspecting and maintaining building runway rails and expansion joints

  • 1 + years of experience with mechanical ability, manual dexterity, and hand/eye coordination required to perform rigging, hook-ups and crane moves, various projects, per drawings, sketches, and verbal or written instructions

Summary pay range: $24.00 – $47.91

Union Representation:

This is an hourly position governed by the International Association of Machinists (IAM-751) Collective Bargaining agreement.
