About The Role

You will join as a Finance Manager within Business Entity Finance, in support of the Monitoring and Analytics/App Dynamics Engineering and CX organization. Your role is to manage the AppDynamics COGS performance and forecasting process, including cloud spend management and forecasting for both COGS and Opex. You will act as a COGS Lead and own financial aspects of the business and have a key seat in business partnering with all AppD business functions, including Engineering, Services, Legal, Sales, and Cisco Finance.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Financial oversight and controllership of all aspects of COGS across the AppD organization. These include SaaS Operations, Professional Services, Customer Success, and Customer Support

  • Perform and oversee capacity planning, forecasting, budgeting, and month end close activities

  • Define and maintain KPI’s for each operation to foster data driven decision making

  • Drive and manage monthly/quarterly quantitative and qualitative COGS reporting and analyses, coordinating with key finance organizations and leveraging various forecast models, reporting systems and tools

  • Manage and improve Product and Services P&Ls to analyze top and bottom line metrics, determine unit economic trends and drive key business decisions

  • Drive process and reporting automation and other efficiencies for various finance organizations and stakeholders within Cisco

  • Assist ad-hoc strategic and financial analyses, in making better decisions using detailed, data-driven analysis from a financial perspective

  • You will manage all aspects of infrastructure spend on public cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure and GCP).

  • Build relationships with Product and Engineering teams to understand how our products and environments impact cloud spend

  • · Analyze and optimize cloud cost and usage (w/ tools like AWS Cost Explorer and CloudHealth) in a data-rich environment that enables technical, business, and finance partners to understand spend

  • · Create financial/forecast models supported by insightful data analytics and dashboards; Correlate operational data with cloud and financial data to understand cost drivers and develop recommendations

  • · Work with Engineering and TechOps to drive cloud cost governance and accountability

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree - MBA / CPA / Consulting background preferred

  • 5-10 years of related work experience (finance, accounting, etc.)

  • Skills to include Essbase, Business Objects, Advanced Excel skills and PowerPoint for executive presentations.

  • Experience working with senior management and ability to inspire change and challenge decision-making where necessary

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with confidence and strength to challenge the status quo

  • Excellent time management and planning skills with the ability to shift priorities in a highly dynamic environment.

  • Strong quantitative analysis, modeling, and logical reasoning skills

  • Mix of SaaS knowledge or support of software / sales a plus
