Job Description Summary

We are seeking a passionate and highly capable individual with a proven track record of sustained success in the execution of complex cross functional programs for business improvement. Specifically, the Program Manager will lead cross functional teams responsible for requirement definition, project design, development, and execution for multi-year new business change programs. This position will also be responsible for maintaining project plans in MS Project and will be responsible for helping BD associates to learn and adopt these technologies.

This role will report into the Program Leader. A key part of this role will be to assist in various department projects and transitions, taking a lead role in planning, coordinating and facilitating projects and transitions from project initiation through completion.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates program management best practices.

  • Independently determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.

  • Ensure effective and efficient regular formal and informal communications with the Core Teams using a variety of tools and channels.

  • Create management reports and presentation to keep senior leadership up to date on schedule, budget and deliverable status.

  • Defines, delegates, and evaluates the roles, responsibilities, goals and deliverables for core and extended team members.

  • Defines program resource needs and negotiates program resourcing plans.

  • Work with functional leaders to ensure the appropriate Core Team resources are committed to the projects and contribute to required performance levels.

  • Create and maintain work plans, enter status and burn rate into the designated project management tracking tool.

  • Work with cross discipline team members to validate program and project assumptions andreview individual program and project plans with senior leadership

  • Document key assumptions and dependencies established through estimation activities

  • Collect, organize and escalate project issues and risks.

  • Aid business units and functional groups in the creation of mitigation plans

  • Create and maintain collaboration environments using Teams, SharePoint and/or similar software.

  • Facilities weekly project meetings to collect status and discuss project issues.

  • Leads cross-functional teams through problem resolution including root cause analysis and corrective action.

  • Analyzes data and complex situations involving evaluation of tangible variables to programs or collective system of projects.

  • Suggests opportunities for improvement that have a significant impact (cost, cycle time, quality, etc.) and assists in developing or executing implementation plan.

  • Ensure programs comply with company quality management systems.

  • Builds high morale and ensure the team commits to goals and objectives by creating a common purpose and direction.

  • Lives and promotes the BD values.

  • Performs other duties and assignments as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum knowledge and skills:

  • Demonstrated self-starter, and highly motivated.

  • Experience of evaluating and implementing BPO changes.

  • Experience building and executing project plans.

  • Demonstrates excellence in both oral and written communication, in cross functional, and cross- cultural environment.

  • Ability to interact with executive leadership, highlight issues and provide options and solutions for resolution.

  • Demonstrates ability to be effective in complex projects with ambiguity and/or rapid change.

  • Multiplexes well to handle multiple tasks and to prioritize and schedule work to meet business needs.

  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion within a defined range of policies and practices. This includes recognizing problems and using analytical problem skills to resolve.

  • Demonstrates organizational and planning skills, including action oriented, focused urgency and driving for results.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree REQUIRED in related field (business, engineering, science or related analytical field)

  • Manufacturing clinical reagent experience preferable

  • Prefer 10 years of project management including 7 years of experience in successfully leading complex, multi-year programs delivered through high performing, cross-functional, teams based in a matrix organization. PMP certification or equivalent beneficial.

  • Demonstrable experience with modern program management tools and techniques to drive cohesion and execution within a cross functional core and extended team environment
