    What you will be doing:

    Primarily a resort specialist, responsible for creating an outstanding first impression over the phone, driving hotel sales by presenting the resort experience to our guests and providing exceptional guest service by anticipating guest needs.

    Reservations Agents answer inbound calls from guests interested in staying at Fairmont Grand Del Mar. Agents describe the resort and its amenities to our guests and assist them by booking their hotel reservation into our property management system. Answer the telephones in a professional and friendly manner.

  • Answer all telephone lines in the reservation department promptly and courteously.

  • Understand technology to answer questions by guests.

  • Carry out the policies and procedures of Fairmont Grand Del Mar while maintaining the highest degree of professionalism and teamwork.

  • Must have the flexibility to work a varied schedule due to business levels and industry demand.

  • Manages and responds to all web related e-mail reservations and/or inquiries, researches guest complaints.

  • Keep current on all promotions and marketing programs as well as all company policies and procedures.

  • Upsells rooms where possible according to established procedures to maximize hotel average room rate.

  • Provides accurate information about the city and the surrounding attractions when asked by guests.

  • Maintain current information and knowledge on packages, room rates, holiday packages and sales promotions.

  • Requires sitting for long periods of time in a confined space and in close proximity to other employees to continuously perform essential functions.

  • Assesses and offers creative suggestions and recommendations to guests/conference requests.

    Your experience and skills include:

  • Good communication skills, attention to detail, customer service skills.

  • Excellent telephone skills, clear and professional grammar and tone.

  • Prefer previous selling experience for up-selling duties.

  • Clear and legible handwriting.

  • A strong working knowledge of hotel services desirable.

  • Ability to effectively interact with management staff and other employees in a professional manner.

  • Possess basic computer skills

  • Wrists rest on table in 20 degrees extension to operate keyboard

  • Head/neck rotation

  • Elbow flexion

  • Up to 0-30 minutes per day

    Sensory:

  • Good speech and hearing necessary for talking on telephone.

    • Sight for performing paperwork.
