Your Role and Responsibilities

As a member of the Hybrid Cloud with Linux on Z and LinuxONE Squad, the IBM Z Brand Technical Specialist needs to focus on building deep technical knowledge across the IBM Z Hybrid Cloud Software and Hardware portfolio. Brand Technical Specialists in this role should be able to relate products within their portfolio back to the overall zStack value proposition by highlighting competitive differentiators, key capabilities and business value of the full stack.

Business Development

Influences the clients' technology strategy and recommends solutions that bring maximum value of IBM combined products. Go-to technical subject-matter-expert (SME) with technical ownership of the solutions within the Hybrid Cloud with Linux on Z and LinuxONE squad for his/her market. Works closely in collaboration with the Account Technical Leader, technical peers from other Business Units and ancillary organizations in the development of winning client solutions.

Progression and Deployment

Leverages technical activities and accelerators to progress opportunities through hands-on experientially selling.

Technical sales support for key programs and select client engagements during the pre-sales and post-sales process to achieve not only the technical win but also to win the deal. Partners with Customer Success Managers where applicable to accelerate deployment and adoption of IBM solutions.

Managing Growth

Positions the value and advantages of assigned IBM Z Hybrid Cloud solutions in comparison to the competition, while demonstrating how these solutions integrated with the overall IBM zStack technologies are best able to align to a client's business and IT priorities. Opens the door for cross brand selling through team account planning and solution design.

If you are hired into a Colorado work location, the anticipated compensation range for the position $94,000 to $188,000 is based on a full-time schedule. Your ultimate compensation may vary depending on your job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

The candidate is likely to be an experienced professional with more than 5 years' experience in the industry.

  • 5 years' experience with direct client support

  • 5 years' experience in hands-on installing, configuring and/or maintaining Z Systems processors and/or the z/OS operating system.

  • Linux or Linux on Z Systems, Z Software, Red Hat Open Shift, zVM, KVM and Open Source

  • Financial Services, Telecommunications or Computer Services Sector industry knowledge.

  • Passion for technology and a relentless desire for continuous learning.

  • Exhibits drive and effectiveness that excels in a team environment.

  • Excellent Technical and Sales acumen

  • Proven Verbal Communication and Presentation skills.

Having knowledge of Digital Assets, Blockchain, Sustainability objectives, Crypto markets as well as Gaming are key tenents for this role also.
