Overview:

Ansco & Associates, LLC provides a complete variety of construction and engineering services to the wireless and wireline industry. We are seeking Foreman Flaggers to work out of our Rome. GA region (other work opportunities may be available out of our Alpharetta, Lithia Springs, and Marietta areas) to perform Traffic Control/Line assistance at active construction sites. Primary responsibilities include the coordination and completion of daily task assignments – leading Flagging crew in the setting-up of worksite traffic and safety controls, and properly securing the work area, to ensure safe travel of all moving or stationary objects (people, vehicles, and/or equipment) as directed by Supervisor. Drive vehicles to and from job locations. Provide labor support as needed to complete daily job duties. Prior experience with installation/repair/maintenance associated with underground utilities preferred. Duties may also include grounds restoration and general construction as directed by Foreman/Supervisor. Driver's License preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Flagging (directing safe coordination of vehicles and equipment within general public areas where worksites are active)

  • Lead and assist in the activities of flagging crew associated with traffic control towards achieving production goals following customer guidelines and specifications.

  • Drives and/or operate diesel or gasoline powered vehicle/equipment to/from/on jobsite.

  • Inspect equipment, work quality, specifications, etc. of work crews.

  • Property or worksite restoration

  • Performs general construction work under direction of Supervisor

  • Resolve complaints.

  • Maintain OSHA logs and other reporting.

  • Performs other duties as necessary.

    Qualifications:

  • Ability to direct work duties of other individuals

  • Ability to follow directions, produce quality work, maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all Federal, State, and Company regulations and policies

  • Ability to perform physical labor.

  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all organizational levels.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Use of hand tools (Flagging paddles, shovel, rake, etc.)

  • Ability to operate various types of vehicles, trucks, and equipment.

  • Flagging certification must be maintained.

Physical Requirements:

  • Climb into and out of truck, cars, backhoes, trenchers, etc.

  • Work while standing several hours at a time

  • Reach, bend, and stoop while performing work

  • Repetitive motion with hand, wrist, feet, head, and shoulder, including but not limited to controlling signaling devices such as paddles/flags in approaching traffic in frequently changing situations

  • Maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination movement; must be able to recognize dangerous traffic situations to warn workers in sufficient time to avoid injury

  • Must be able to move and maneuver quickly in order to avoid danger from errant vehicles

  • Must be able to lift/carry heavy objects – on average up to 50 pounds

  • Hand dig with shovel, sharpshooter, etc.

  • Work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, and hardhat

  • Work in extreme weather conditions, depending on geographic location (i.e. below freezing to over 100 degrees)

  • Be able to perform the above for at least 8 hours per day for 5 days a week
