Code written by Capital One engineers directly impacts our customers every day. Engineers selected for this position will be part of what is often a customer’s first contact with the company, applying for a credit card. What you’ll do:
Design, develop, and implement web-based Java applications to support business requirements. Embrace agile methodologies to collaborate with business requirements managers to identify intent, creates design documents
Perform program coding driven by meaningful testing
Resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation
Rely on experience and judgement to plan approaches, accomplish goals, and clearly identify risks
Perform a variety of tasks including development, deployment, production support, and documentation
Be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within production Java applications
Foster an atmosphere of creativity and innovation
Bachelor's degree or military experience
At least 2 years of software development experience
2+ years of experience with Java
Degree in IT related field (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)
Experience in Relational Database Design
Experience with SpringBoot including one or more of the following SpringMVC, SpringReactive, SpringREST, SpringJPA, SpringWebSocket
Experience with Cloud Platforms
Experience with microservice design driven architecture
DevOps experience for zero-downtime cloud deployment
Creative approaches to simplify codebases, analyze opportunities for improvement and enhance code performance
Experience in NodeJS, Python or GoLang programming concepts and best practices
