Raytheon Technologies AWS Software Architect (Onsite) in Richardson, Texas
Raytheon Intelligence and Space, located in Richardson, Texas (Cityline) is looking for a candidate to join our world-class engineering team as a Sr. Software Cloud Architect (Principal Software Engineer). The candidate is expected to be able to comprehend customer needs and translate to viable architectural and design solutions and apply skills from experience and have a solid foundation in Java or C# and extensive experience working in a LINUX or UNIX environment. The selected candidate must also be able to use their sound and demonstrable understanding of software principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering (including software development lifecycle and software development process), design patterns, and Object-Oriented architecture. The candidate must also demonstrate critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas well. The candidate must have the ability to work in a team environment using agile development principles. And must be able to work from within the Raytheon Technologies facility in Richardson, TX.

Job responsibilities include:

A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an AWS SW Architect.
8+ years of software development experience in Java, C/C++ or C#; 2+ years of experience with RESTful services
Architecting using Microservices
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Technologies
Including the use of Infrastructure related AWS Services and related technologies such as EBS, CDK, Lambda, S3, EC2, RDS, VPC, ELB
Including the integration and use of AWS services with custom developed applications
Ability to integrate a wide variety of applications from various sources
Experience architecting/designing to meet data processing performance requirements
Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD)
Experience developing infrastructure solutions on RHEL OS that utilizes third party products (Terraform, Ansible, Chef)
Development with database experience (e.g., JDBC, Postgres, MongoDB)
Experience developing, testing, and delivering applications within a DevSecOps framework Including
Use of Helm and Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with building automated testing
Experience with Agile and DevSecOps toolsets (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Jenkins, Cucumber, etc.)
Experience providing storage solutions using Network File System (NFS), Gluster, AWS EBS
Effective verbal and written communication
Elastic Tool Suite
Identity and Access Management (IDAM)
Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
Domain Name System (DNS)
Infrastructure as Code solutions for CI/CD
Multifaceted code language developer (e.g. Java, C/C++, Python, Groovy, Ruby, Bash)
Experience using SOAP-based web services (interface definition, implementation, WS-Security)
8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors degree (STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, typically); OR
6 years of relevant experience with a Masters degree (STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, typically)
