Position Summary

The Technical Sales Manager is responsible for the creation and execution of product line strategies related to precast concrete products (e.g., prestressed poles, bunker silos, water troughs, etc.) used in development and construction projects. The selected candidate will be responsible for the strategic planning, competitive and pricing analyses, customer relations and the development of best practices as it relates to the execution of projects and field services.

This position will report to the Vice President of Product Management and may be based in Northern California or Reno, Nevada.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the production of valued-based pricing models, showing anticipated revenue and margin growth, as well as return on investment.

  • Conducts market analyses to determine market needs, opportunities, and possible threats.

  1. Seeks and capitalizes on opportunities for new market penetration.
  • Performs competitive analyses and recommends adjustments of priorities and direction to maintain the best possible competitive edge.

  • Collaborates with engineering and marketing teams to develop appropriate material for engineering documentation, installation guides and other related technical documents.

  • Conducts and presents financial analyses and delivers business case analyses for new markets and/or segments.

  • Maintains active involvement in industry and trade associations and organizations in order to keep abreast of emerging technologies, best practices and competitor activity.

  • Maintains a practice of continuous improvement as it relates to the customer experience, product quality and project efficiency.

  • Acts as an intermediary between Jensen Precast customers and the Jensen Precast manufacturing teams regarding product quality, lead and delivery times and other customer related issues.

  • Works closely with the sales & marketing and engineering teams on the development, planning, and execution of new projects.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated history in product management with an in-depth knowledge of the construction industry. Experience in the collaboration with sales and marketing, engineering, and manufacturing teams is highly desirable. Other attributes include but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field or commensurate experience in construction management.

  • Experience in financial analysis and reporting.

  • Experienced in market and competitor analysis with the ability to digest, develop and present action plans.

  • Adept at presenting marketing material to current and prospective customers with the ability to see the discussion through to closure.

  • Excellent attention to detail and the presentation of complex material to internal and external teams.

  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable collaborating with professionals at all levels of the organization.

  • Willing to travel to Europe at least twice a year.
