Penske Senior Remarketing Data Analyst (Senior Remarketing Pricing Analyst) in Reading, Pennsylvania


Position Summary:

A Senior Remarketing Pricing Analyst will monitor market sales results and Penske remarketing processes and interpret them to provide recommendations on used vehicle pricing for various makes and models of vehicles in our fleet of over 200,000 vehicles. A Senior Remarketing Analyst will assist field associates, corporate associates, and remarketing associates with FMV (Fair Market Value) valuations to support daily sales activity, early renewals, and acquisitions. To achieve this, one will need to develop and execute queries to obtain the data from numerous sources. Analysis of these this data should result in pricing and sales channel recommendations to management; performance dashboards; sales compliance as well as current and accurate pricing models. A successful candidate will be able to determine the correct approach and technology to use to take an assigned task from start to finish and execute these assignments.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market research to make recommendations on used vehicle pricing indexes for all makes and models in our fleet.

  • Develop queries and analyze data for vehicles listed for sale, vehicles sold, and vehicles terming within 12 months.

  • Develop queries and analyze data to determine the optimal sales channel based on vehicle segmentation and sales results.

  • Analyze vehicles listed for sale to ensure pricing and sales channel compliance.

  • Provide support maintaining pricing models and external data sources including Blackbook, Truck Paper and other market data sources.

  • Administrate the Vehicle List for Sale process. Review vehicles Submitted for sale and ensure data and pricing are accurate for each vehicle.

  • Other projects as assigned by the Manager



  • Thorough knowledge of truck specifications

  • Ability to research and source data for various projects and initiatives

  • Must be able to interpret large amounts of data to provide process-level performance statistics and recommendations to management on process improvements

  • Ability to manage the implementation of said recommendations

  • Exceptional technical and analytical skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office products with emphasis in developing MS Access databases

  • Knowledge of SQL & VBA is a plus

  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills

  • Innovative and self-motivating with an attention to detail

  • Knowledge of AS400 vehicle and component files

  • HS Diploma required; BA/BS preferred

  • Green Belt Certification preferred

  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
