RedHat Senior Financial Analyst, Global Partners and Alliances in Raleigh, North Carolina

Job summary

The Red Hat Global Business Finance team is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to support the Global Partners and Alliances (GPA) team in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for providing financial support as a business partner for key stakeholders in our GPA Sales team. You’ll work closely with five additional analysts on our direct team as well as with our Finance Shared Services team to design reporting and assist with the development of core deliverables. Over time, you will become a subject matter expert in your areas of responsibility and you’ll be expected to provide guidance and insights on the Red Hat business. You will get the opportunity to learn a dynamic, growing software business while working as part of a high-performing Finance team.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support and consultation for global sales leadership teams

  • Partner directly with sales leadership to develop and refine business forecasts and supporting analyses

  • Work closely with the GPA Finance team and shared services analysis team in India to guide net-new analysis requirements and facilitate development of reporting and insights

  • Use data analysis and modeling skills to manage business reporting to executives; develop and implement investment plans, identify new opportunities, and create and manage key performance metrics

  • Consult on the development of standardized reporting and dashboards to guide and enable data-driven decision making

  • Refine and process monthly and quarterly analysis for stakeholders, including quarterly business reviews (QBRs), KPIs, etc.

  • Engage in data cleansing activities to ensure that sales data is consistent and accurate for management reporting

Required skills

  • 3+ years of related professional experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a quantitative field

  • Solid, proven business relationship management skills, ideally supporting a Global Sales or Marketing team

  • Top-line (bookings and revenue) forecasting experience partnering with business leaders

  • Expert spreadsheet skills with proven experience managing large datasets and performing analysis; ability to summarize complex analysis for business executives

  • Coachable, energetic, and detail-oriented; focused on and diligent in delivering results with a willingness to learn and the ability to work as part of a team

  • Critical thinker who is willing to go above and beyond providing the data and transforming it into business insights

  • Entrepreneurial attitude and problem-solving mindset

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Experience with Google Sheets and Slides and the Microsoft Office suite

  • Understanding of and the ability to embody the Red Hat culture

  • Available to work extended hours during periods of high demand such as quarter or year end as needed

  • Current residence within the Raleigh-Durham metropolitan area or a willingness to relocate prior to Red Hat office reopening

The following are considered a plus:

  • Experience with data mining tools and/or dashboard creation, i.e., Tableau

  • Previous experience in programming, scripting, or writing database SQL code

  • Understanding of Salesforce.com (SFDC) and reporting in it

  • Previous experience or familiarity with a software or subscription model business

  • MBA Degree in Finance or a related business discipline
