The Sandoz US Ethics, Risk and Compliance (ERC) department seeks an experienced compliance pharmaceutical professional (7-10 years of experience) who can be successful within our ethical, fast-paced, adaptive, and collaborative culture. The Director will take a lead role in the formation and management of a Policy and Training Center of Excellence. Key Responsibilities: • The first key responsibility is to drive policy excellence throughout the Sandoz organization. The Compliance Professional will collaborate with ERC Associates and Sandoz business leaders to continually assess Sandoz policies, procedures and working practice documents (WPDs) to ensure that relevant Sandoz policies address risks, document key business processes, and meet the obligations of the Corporate Integrity Agreement (CIA). This Compliance Professional will (i) create new guidance where needed to govern new activities, (ii) update/amend existing guidance to ensure their highest possible quality and risk management, (iii) update/amend existing guidance where needed to incorporate learning’s from investigations, monitoring, auditing, and Independent Review Organization (IRO) reviews, and (iv) update/amend existing guidance to incorporate changes in the law and conduct reviews of existing policies according to schedule. • The second responsibility is to oversee Ethics, Risk and Compliance training. The Associate will lead the development of an annual compliance training plan that will satisfy the requirements of the CIA and execute on department specific onboarding plans to ensure current and new associates are aware of relevant policies, processes and WPDs applicable to being successful and compliant in their role. The plan will include broad global topics such as Code of Ethics, P3, Anti-bribery and Conflicts of Interest, as well as local training on Commercial, Medical and Pricing and Contracting activity. The Director will partner very closely with all functions for which customized training is required to thoroughly understand their activities and will specifically partner with legal associates to research case law, guidance, settlements, and changes in the law to ensure the training accurately reflects the current legal landscape. • The role may provide direction to one associate. \n\n\n\n Position Title: Director, Policy & Training Excellence Minimum requirements: At Sandoz, our vision is to be a company where people do the right thing not because a policy requires it, but because they value ethics and recognize the critical importance of compliance to the success of the business. Behavioural requirements for this position include: • Being an integrity role model by visibly and consistently speaking and acting the values of our V&Bs and Code of Ethics • Acting professionally in all business relationships (with colleagues within the compliance and legal group, with business partners from other departments, and with external stakeholders) • Considering not only the law, but also broader ethical and reputational implications when advising the business What you will bring to this role: • Bachelor’s degree, Advanced degree or Law (JD degree) preferred. • 7+ years of relevant experience with compliance, internal audit, or similar function within the life sciences industry. • Pharmaceutical or medical device industry experience required. Experience in developing process flows, writing WPDs and creating training programs. • Required to develop skills consistent with expanding role of the compliance group within Sandoz.
