Providence Health & Services Career Exploration Coordinator in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Career Exploration Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Office Park in Portland, OR.
In this position, you will:
Be responsible for the organization and implementation of the already established Providence Surgical Viewings and the Providence Career Highlights as career exploration opportunities for high school students including Career Exploration Days and job shadows.
Be responsible for organizing, scheduling, registering students and facilitating the Surgical Viewings and Career Highlights at various Providence sites within Oregon.
Provide basic health career overview presentations to local schools and community organizations and will facilitate and support at other School Outreach career exploration events as needed.
Maintain and keep updated the School Outreach website.
Have a primary focus on providing the health career exploration in order to develop a future diverse pipeline of employees for Providence Health System to increase the diversity of our workforce.
Ensure that the outreach events and activities are consistent with Providence Health Systems (PHS) vision and core values.
Perform all duties in a manner which promotes team concept, caring and respect, and which reflects the Providence Health Systems mission and philosophy.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Public Health or related field -OR-
High school diploma and completion of a Providence Internship
2 years of experience working with youth, schools, career counselors, teachers and community organizations
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
2 years of experience in working with underrepresented minority populations on workforce preparedness
Experience in public speaking
Fluent in Spanish
