Reference #: 21000291DescriptionReporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer, the Manager, Data Verification (Manager) will be responsible for the overall daily management and operation of the Data Verification Unit (andquot;DVUandquot;), including leading the team of internal and, as needed, external data verification analysts. The DVU is responsible for reviewing, correcting, and verifying the accuracy and completeness of all of Temple's externally reported or published data, including, but not limited to, such high-profile items as rankings survey responses, government reports and filings, accreditation materials, and marketing matters. DVU is also responsible for providing training and consulting on data integrity procedures and practices among all schools, colleges, and administrative units in the University.The Manager is ultimately responsible for all operations of the DVU. The Manager will be responsible for managing the receipt of all incoming DVU matters; deploying all assignments to internal and external analysts; ensuring appropriate workflow for each. The Manager will ensure the DVU is meeting or exceeding its service level commitments to all university schools, colleges, and administrative units. The Manager will directly supervise a team of two (2) or more Data Verification Analysts as well as external resources on an as-needed basis as approved by the Chief Compliance Officer.The Manager will provide hands-on guidance to DVU analysts and other university staff members as they work through data verification projects. The Manager will review and proof all outgoing DVU work products to ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness prior to issuance. The Manager will appropriately escalate matters requiring higher-level input to the Chief Compliance Officer or other senior leaders as needed and will also consult with Temple's outside auditors in conducting audits of DVU's activities. The Manager will provide feedback and guidance to requestors at all levels of the University on data practices that are working well or need improvement, and maintain a current, complete, and accurate inventory of completed and open reviews in the DVU tracking system.The Manager is responsible for developing and analyzing metrics of completed and open reviews to measure DVU performance and search for areas for improvement. At times in order to meet deadlines, the individual may be required to perform tasks of DVU staff including:o Reviewing draft submissions for completeness, accuracy, and sufficiency of supporto Re-performing/recalculating answers or statements from a dataseto Maintaining and properly detailing supporting work paperso Communicating via email, phone, and in-person meetings with data preparers to address questions and resolve open itemsThe Manager will establish and maintain required DVU policies and procedures. The Manager will routinely consult with senior leadership to ensure sufficient communication of relevant DVU matters and develop and deploy data verification training to all schools, colleges, and units.The Manager will support the Ethics and Compliance function in any other way deemed necessary.Required Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in business administration, social sciences, statistics, information systems, educational research, or related field and at least five (5) years of experience in institutional research or related field.
