Provide technical leadership within a team responsible for designing, developing, monitoring, supporting, and enhancing the features of private cloud services; utilize VMware ESXi, VCenter, and vRops virtualization software to support and enhance features of private cloud services; configure systems, monitor system health, and troubleshoot issues using VMware NSX network software; use Python, PowerCLI, and Bash to develop custom scripts and coding to extend and fix systems, document detailed software designs, and help the L1 team to understand updated systems and documentation; design, develop, and automate monitoring and reporting functions; develop and automate self-service environments for system users; provide technical operations training and monitoring to support 24/7 system support efforts; plan, integrate, and deploy software products; interface with engineering project management and principal engineers to deliver system applications according to product requirements, project schedules, and reliability standards; collaborate with product development and operations teams to define technical requirements; define and document detailed software designs that meet technical requirements and effectively integrate with existing system architecture; diagnose and provide tier-3 technical operational support for escalated field issues; and mentor and guide junior-level engineers. ***REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, and five (5) years of experience enhancing features of private cloud services using VMware ESXi, VCenter, and vRops; of which three (3) years includes developing custom scripts utilizing Python, PowerCLI, and Bash; and of which one (1) year includes utilizing VMware NSX to configure systems, monitor system health, and troubleshoot issues.
