The Boeing Defense, Space, and Security division is seeking an experienced Inspector- Structure Assembly & Electrical/ Electronic to join our Palmdale, CA team.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform work within confined spaces such as within integral fuel cells.

  • Read and interpret and inspect using information from planning documents, drawings, manuals, blueprints, specifications. sketches, quality assurance and operational test manuals and engineering work orders to determine the methods and sequence of operations to visually, functionally or operationally inspect space vehicle major electronic systems or electronic test console systems used to simulate the actual operation of space vehicle systems.

  • Inspect entire aircraft, missile and/or space vehicle's mechanical, hydro-mechanical and pneumatic systems including related electrical/electronic elements using precision measuring instruments, tooling fixtures, mass spectrometers, hydrocarbon analyzers and test equipment consoles.

  • Inspect major assemblies, structural sections, accessories, power plant buildup, and final assembly mating of structural sections and verify functional checks of portions of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and fluid/gaseous/ systems using technical data, drawings, specifications and geometric tolerances.

  • Inspect the installation, modification, proper function, and repair of structural, electrical/electronic systems, units, and sub-units, and make the final company inspection of test consoles.

  • Make or verify proper setup and operation of test and recording equipment, and related electrical and mechanical accessories for compliance with specifications.

  • Inspect completely installed armament and detonable systems, including, bore sighting, alignment and operation of all weapons before, during and after test firing.

  • Inspect plastics, metallic and non-metallic composite parts and assemblies, and adhesive bonded assemblies, including spacecraft thermo protection system tiles.

  • Analyze data and compute and extend readings and measurements taken from test instruments, graphs and charts.

  • Inspect mechanical control center stations, pressure test consoles, operational high pressure testing, rigging and operation of emergency escape systems.

  • Observe and verify environmental and life tests conducted concurrently and In connection with functional test

  • Record assembly, installation, repair, modification and checkout data and statistics manually or with the aid of a computer or computer-based system.

Candidate must have the ability to work any shift, including overtime.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum of 3 year of Structural Assembly Inspection experience

  • Minimum of 3 year of reading and interpreting Blueprint

  • Minimum of 3 year of experience utilizing inspection tools (calipers, Gauges, scales)

  • Ability to work in confined spaces

  • Ability to obtain fall protection certification

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Airframe License

  • Power Plant License

  • High school diploma or GED
