NBC Universal Sourcing Manager- Food and Beverage in Orlando, Florida
JOB SUMMARY: The Manager of Sourcing is responsible for leading the Sourcing team, designing and implementing Sourcing programs and strategies, as well as negotiating distributor and manufacturing agreements, managing vendor relationships, and driving organizational cost savings in the category of Food & Beverage. This classification reviews a wide range of purchase requisitions including items or services; investigates and develops sources of supplies, preparing bid specifications; issuing bid requests and reviewing quotations. This role requires interpretation of purchasing procedures to departments and vendors as a specialist in assigned material categories which require a high degree of technical knowledge based on the Food sourcing categories.
This role facilitates, provides guidance and implements necessary improvements within the Sourcing organization and operation of the company. Leading a team of sourcing professionals, the Manager will guide their team to meet the challenges of a fast paced, collaborative, and results driven environment; also ensuring bi-coastal Sourcing initiatives are executed efficiently, industry best practices are adopted, and corporate Sourcing policies are adhered to for Universal’s domestic properties. This role will require global interaction with stakeholders and other UPR Sourcing professionals.
Drives completion of projects by proactively considering new alternatives and drive critical thinking to optimize results. Ensures consistent source to pay processes between all Universal Parks & Resorts business units; Builds and fosters relationships by collaborating with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and UPR leadership.
Develops and manages procurement policies and procedures to enhance organizational value and efficiency leveraging industry and organizational best practices. Provides input and support for continuous improvement programs within the department by taking lead on identifying opportunities and creating business cases.
Manages relationships and negotiations with a wide range of suppliers including contract compliance in the Food & Beverage category; Plans and forecasts product usage and demand as required.
Leads a high performing team of Sourcing professionals to drive change and deliver significant value while merging Supply Chain and Sourcing principles with Parks operations.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree is required.
Master’s degree is preferred.
5+ years’ of experience in strategic sourcing required.
3+ years’ in a Food Services sourcing role required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Certified Professional Food Manager (CPRM) preferred.
Experience leading a team within a fast-paced organization with demonstrated ability to hire and develop a team.
Experience working on cross-functional teams that require collaboration and innovation.
Demonstrated ability to identify and implement efficiencies.
Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, etc.
Ability to think strategically and conceptually, as well as being accountable to details.
Must be extremely detail oriented and organized.
Must have effective communication skills, both written and verbal at all levels of the organization.
Strong data and analytical skills.
Metrics driven and results-oriented.
Strong team leader with a deep understanding of product life cycle, price elasticity, COGS, revenue flow, program building, packaging, logistics.
Understanding of FDA regulations and/or Food Safety requirements a plus.
Strong project management skills, including adhering to stakeholder timelines, and meeting management skills.
Experience creating and driving the analytic framework for planning and implementing organizational change.
Expert understanding of, and deep experience with, multi-step strategic sourcing processes and category management strategies.
Strong decision maker with the ability to work and lead in ambiguous situations with limited amounts of information, conflicting priorities, and fluid deadlines.
Resourceful problem solver with the ability to prioritize and create approaches to meet required objectives.
Collaborate efficiently and effectively with team, vendors and stakeholders, establishing trust and credibility.
Proactive in supplier research and development process to identify region or vendors for requested products.
Tenacious negotiator with proven experience in setting negotiation strategies, supplier expectations, and conducting negotiation.
Experienced working with large amounts of data files with thousands of line items, cost modeling, forecasting, etc.
