Omaha Public Power District Product Analyst (Data Analyst) in Omaha, Nebraska
Join our growing Product Development and Marketing Team at OPPD! We are seeking a candidate who not only loves data, but someone who also wants the opportunity to set the foundation and grow our data capabilities within this team.
The Product Analyst applies statistical analysis techniques to provide insights on customer-related data. This position is responsible for collecting, calibrating, analyzing, and maintaining information to support the development of new, and maintenance of existing products and services offered by OPPD. Collaboration with multiple business units and departments is required in order to support product analytics and trending. This position will also provide a focus on forecasting and measuring product metrics to identify opportunities to accelerate product adoption, retention and engagement. The Product Analyst will be involved in all phases of the product development and lifecycle management processes and must possess superior communication skills in order inform and educate Stakeholders of the story within the data.
Design, develop and implement analysis tools and techniques using fragmented data sources:
Develop product (existing, new, and potential) modeling and forecasting metrics for the product lifetime that results in actionable insights.
Lead development of analytics models such as customer segmentation, predictive modeling, personalization algorithms, etc. to predict participation levels.
Analyze data to identify business opportunities using statistical modeling, segmentation strategies, optimization algorithms, and data mining analyses (regression, predictive):
Analyze both quantitative and qualitative information using data processing tools and/or analytical methodologies.
Find patterns streaming from different sources, infer from those patterns, customer behavior and write statistical models to pinpoint behavioral triggers.
Translate findings into business value and build presentations for clients and internal audiences.
Drive product sales growth through the development of targeted segmentation solutions.
Design, develop, implement, and maintain reporting tools. This includes, but is not limited to, reporting, dashboards, scorecards and mapping functions:
Prepare and maintain a consolidated dashboard of product metrics (goal against YTD against YOY).
Lead the collection of data for periodic reports required by external vendors, partners or governmental agencies.
Use advanced data visualization techniques to provide a concise and compelling summary of analysis findings in reports and presentations to Stakeholders throughout the organization.
Provide product development support as needed by the Product & Marketing team:
Research the target market segments and coordinate with Product Specialists to ensure OPPD’s products and services offer something to each demographic.
Analyze market data to help develop marketing strategies used to enhance the reception of those products in the market.
Establish comprehension of the projected costs of a product during each phase of its lifecycle and provide understanding of how and when to introduce the product into the market by create mathematical representations of these factors.
Develop financial and product performance models on OPPD’s products and services as well as of the target markets to bring an understanding of the relations between the product and the target market.
Assist in monitoring the market, competitor activities, price movements and make recommendations that will be used in key decision making.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, statistics, mathematics, or related technical discipline OR five (5) years of relevant work experience.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with accuracy and attention to detail.
Experience with SAS, SPSS, R, Python, SQL or other statistical/data extracting applications.
Ability to create reports and recommendations based on data trends.
Data manipulation and visualization via Excel, Tableau or other tools.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels within the organization.
Desired:
Advanced degree in applicable field such as computer science, management information systems, statistics, mathematics, or related technical discipline.
Experience in developing products and/or marketing campaigns.
Experience in product analytics or product performance management or related support.
Familiarity with product development processes and product lifecycle management.
Statistical, work experience in related field.
Experience with Cognos Report Studio, HTML or various other data extracting/reporting programs.
