Privacy Manager, Germany, Janssen

Preferred Location: Neuss/Desseldorf Areas

Secondary Location: Will consider other German Locations

Full-time

Position overview:

The Privacy Manager will be responsible for supporting the Senior Manager Germany with privacy work across the Janssen business according to the needs and priorities discussed with the business functions and the Global Privacy Team. The Privacy Manager will assist with coordinating all activities related to implementation of and adherence to the Johnson & Johnson Global Privacy Framework and Procedures and applicable data protection laws.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Advises business of their responsibilities and obligations and drives a culture of compliance with privacy requirements

  • Builds understanding of privacy risks and opportunities related to personal data processing activities and provides advice on how to mitigate these risks and improve the opportunities, by embedding privacy into the design of business activities

  • Elaborates practical mentorship in line with the Global Privacy Framework and Policies (e.g., review of policies, update consent & notice forms etc.)

  • Assists with rolling out the Global Privacy Framework and specific local privacy laws in countries with new privacy laws and regulations

  • Serves as a point of contact to share staff experiences in privacy related issues and provide first mentorship if privacy questions arise

  • Supports the Senior Manager Privacy with education, training, and communications on Privacy Compliance to relevant employees including to the local management Boards

  • Assists the business with records of processing activities and data protection impact assessments

  • Provides privacy support to business projects and provides mentorship to ensure Privacy controls are embedded into the design of processes and systems as applicable and liaises with and handles Workers Council’s requirements as needed

  • Assists with internal and external audits and inspections, requests for access and correction of personal data or complaints

  • Supports the management of privacy incidents and liaises with the Johnson & Johnson Data Breach Response Team

  • Handles privacy related incidents in close collaboration with management and, depending on the incident, with local Privacy Managers and the Johnson & Johnson Data Breach Response Team

  • Actively engages with the Global Privacy Team and participates to its information sessions, to ensure maximal alignment with global standards and practices

  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Legal qualification preferred but not required

  • Must be based in Germany, Neuss / Dusseldorf area preferred

  • At least 5-6 years professional experience with a minimum of 4 years in a law firm or in a privacy role for a business

  • Functional understanding of privacy laws and regulations applied in a company context

  • Familiarity with health care industry and its businesses is ideal

  • Familiarity with the roll out of compliance programs

  • Experience of collaborating with Workers Councils

  • Strong change and project management and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to deal optimally with all levels of an organization

  • Ability to maintain the highest standards of quality, compliance and accountability when advising the business

  • Ability to translate a wide variety of principles and, sometimes complex requirements into concrete solutions for the business. Ability to see the big picture, whilst working to get the details done

  • Excellent organizational, facilitation, communication, and presentation skills

  • Global mentality and preparedness to incorporate global standards and practices

  • Ability to work under general direction, and can plan and arrange own activities to accomplish objectives

  • Strong result driven attitude

  • English language at professional proficiency required, both oral and written
