Associate Medical Director
JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a candidate for the position of Associate Medical Director . Reporting to the Global Corporate Medical Director in Health Services, a division of the Benefits Department. The job location is New York, NY; however, we may consider our Jersey City, NJ or Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX locations. The Health Services Department consists of 27 clinics that includes a matrix team of 73 employee RNs and 50 contracted medical staff providers.
The Role / Responsibilities:
The Associate Medical Director will work in conjunction with the Global Corporate Medical Director to oversee and implement comprehensive occupational health programs for 163 ,000 U.S.-based employees, and 94 ,000 international employees. The successful candidate will participate in policy and program development, strategic planning, and implementation of the standards of practice for all U.S. domestic sites. The incumbent will provide clinical leadership for medical staff, including the contract physicians, advanced practice providers and corporate health nurses, provide ongoing guidance to regional nurse managers and nursing supervisors and will work to maintain quality, regulatory compliance and vendor relationships. The successful candidate will interface and provide guidance for the workplace accommodation program, safety and environmental issues, as well as consultations with human resources professionals, emergency response providers, security, legal and outside medical providers. This position will have clinical and operational oversight of provider contracts, operational contracts, and assist with the oversight of Health & Wellness Center operations.
Additional responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:
Assist in the identification of significant health risks in the employee population, identify opportunities for mitigation and oversee compliance of medical and health requirements with regulatory agencies.
Provide direct oversight of clinical services, including audit monitoring of the clinical activities of provider and nursing staff. Provide clinical support as needed.
Work with the Head of Benefits, the Global Corporate Medical Director (GCMD) and the Global Wellness Manager to provide strategic support, advisement and participation in the development of the Company's health and wellness agenda (e.g., special projects, benefits redesign, health care cost-management strategies).
Serve as a subject matter expert for occupational medicine, public and environmental health issues and actively participate in problem-solving for the firm.
Provide health consultation to management and appropriate individuals within the Company, such as providing clinical advice and immediate referral/navigation assistance when necessary for complex employee cases.
Work with the GCMD and the JPMorgan Chase designated health care providers to maintain a network of quality physician service contracts in the major areas in which we operate.
Experience / Qualifications:
M.D. or D.O. degree, active U.S. medical license (ability to be licensed to practice medicine in NY and NJ, as well as the work location state of this position, e.g., Ohio or Texas, if applicable)
Board Certification in a primary care specialty: Occupational Health, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine
Management/leadership experience within the corporate, military or healthcare industry is required; experience working within the financial services industry is a plus
Minimum of two years in Occupational Health, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Emergency Department or Ambulatory Care settings
Prior Medical Review Officer (MRO) training is a plus
Superior clinical judgement, leadership skills and demonstrated ability to manage a group of healthcare and allied healthcare professionals
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop rapport with a range of disciplines and to interact effectively with people from diverse socioeconomic groups
Innovative and self-motivated; proactive and focused on solutions
Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload
