A Day in the Life

As a Senior Supply Chain Planner, you will lead complex projects and initiatives relating to Supply Chain Management with the intention of improving business performance and service. Primary location preference is Boulder, Colorado. Open to remote work near a US-based Medtronic site.

You will:

Lead complex projects including optimization of production capacity, transfer of products between facilities, balancing global inventory network, improving global service levels, improving manufacturing/ supply chain efficiency.

Manage supply chain from forecast input through to goods being received in the Distribution Center

Ensure optimal net requirements signals are provided and communicated to manufacturing. Ensure multi- echelon system accuracy

Maintain appropriate DRP parameters.

Own supply chain service and inventory metrics. Leadership of regular cross-functional metric performance reviews.

Work with all levels of Corporate and Plant Management, Product Managers, Global Marketing Managers, Corporate and Plant Planners to identify and implement supply chain continuous improvement.

Carry out the planning of inventory in all locations and to match supply with demand.

Realize and drive the optimal balance between service (BO and Fill Rate) and inventory, while working to reduce Logistic costs.

Work with Demand Planning/Marketing to improve forecast variance and minimize slow and non-moving inventory.

Effectively plan and control the supply chain to meet and exceed KPIs relating to Customer Service, inventory levels/inventory weeks, and forecast variance.

Partner with the manufacturing plants, developing projections of inventory/ service recovery during periods of supply disruption.

Coordinate closely with and serve as the primary contact with Manufacturing, Finance, Customer Service and develop relationships with Marketing.

Utilize lean principles and root cause/ corrective action methodology to drive continual improvement in processes leading to step function improvement in performance in Service/Inventory.

Support the development and continuous improvement of MITG SOP process.

Actively plan and support new business opportunities, new product introductions, integrations and transfers.

Work cross functionally with RD, Finance, Engineering and customer service on project teams

work closely with Demand planning/Marketing to understand business shifts and improve forecast accuracy.

Travel and visit both domestic and international plants up to 20%

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have

Bachelors degree in Business, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related discipline plus relevant knowledge and 4+ years of experience of working in a Supply Chain / Manufacturing environment.

Rigorous mathematics/analytics/statistical skills demonstrated through education or professional background

Proven ability to meet and maintain customer / business expectations and requirements.

Excellent statistical and mathematics skills

Software skills including MS Office (Access Excel focus)

Working knowledge of SAP

Excellent written and verbal communication

Demonstrated project management skills

Excellent analytical skills

Experience implementing/ utilizing LEAN/Six Sigma techniques a plus.

Knowledge of distribution planning, logistics, warehousing or transportation

Medical Device/ Medical Supplies Manufacturing experience

APICS (CPIM) or ISM (CPM) certification
