Extreme Networks is looking for a highly capable Machine Learning Engineer to build and develop our next-generation real-time machine learning platform. You will closely work with Data Scientist to implement algorithms and models by fast prototyping and work with the software team to architect, implement, optimize, and deploy the solutions in production.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Data Scientists, build tools to enhance their productivity and to validate, ship, and maintain ML models, and for fast-prototyping

  • Develop production ready and high performance machine learning code, working in the next-generation real time ML platform

  • Collaborate with our development team to ensure the platform is highly performant, stable, and robust.

  • Run machine learning tests and experiments.

  • Train and retrain systems when necessary.

  • Extend existing ML libraries and frameworks.

Required Skills

  • Degree in mathematics/computer science/ statistics/operations research.

  • Proficiency in least one or more statistical programming languages (e.g. Python or R)

  • Strong understanding and passion for statistical/mathematical modelling and data analysis .

  • Experience dealing with real world large-scale datasets.

  • Ability to deliver end-to-end solutions, including data preparation, training, and deployment.

  • Experience working with distributed data technologies (e.g. MapReduce, Spark, Flink, Kafka, etc.) for building efficient and large-scale streaming process system.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Experience with real-time/streaming datasets is a plus.

  • Excellent knowledge and experience with networking is also a bonus.

  • Exposure to Cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a bonus.

Location: Open to anywhere in Canada, can work remote or if near our Thornhill site in Toronto can use flexible scheduling to come into the office to work with others, as you choose.
