The HR team is looking for a Content Program Manager to create, curate, and publish employee-facing self-service content on Microsoft’s intranet. Our HRweb intranet site is the source of truth where employees find answers, information, and help in their employment at Microsoft. Each month, most of our employees engage with HRweb content to help them answer questions about their employment and benefits and to solve problems. In this role, you can help make an immediate impact on the employee experience and enable self-service, ensuring employees find the right content with the right message at the right time.


  • Source, curate, edit, and publish content on HRweb, both proactively and reactively in response to business needs.

  • Handle content maintenance requests within the team’s established SLAs.

  • Support business projects with content strategy by scoping the project, assessing opportunities to provide self-service content for employees, sourcing the necessary content, and publishing the content by the necessary deadline.

  • Provide editorial oversight and guidance to content stakeholders, ensuring content is high quality and adheres to standard voice and style standards.

  • Analyze content performance data to understand how content is adding (or not adding) value for employees. Provide actionable recommendations to help stakeholders improve the employee experience with content.

  • Partner with peers to continuously improve team processes and operations, ensuring Microsoft receives strong return on investment from content results.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in global English

  • Sound judgment making content decisions, focusing on the user experience as a priority

  • Strong project management, communications, and cross-group collaboration skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment with rapidly changing priorities, including negotiating and making trade-offs when necessary

  • Hands-on experience writing, editing, curating, and creating a variety of content types

  • Strong handle on the value and use of style guides and voice principles

  • Experience adhering to and advocating for content strategy in an environment with competing interests and goals

Required Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience writing, editing, and managing content in an enterprise environment

  • A portfolio of writing examples that demonstrate experience creating a variety of content

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Two years of experience collaborating with stakeholders

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office applications

  • 1+ years of experience using HTML or XML to manage content in a CMS

  • Experience developing and publishing content on SharePoint / SharePoint Online

  • Experience developing content for chatbots and/or knowledge base

  • Experience working in Human Resources or other organizations with compliance and regulatory requirements

  • Experience working with image editing software
