HNTB Environmental Planner III in Mcminnville, Oregon
What We're Looking For
We have a terrific opportunity for a full-time planner, biologist, environmental scientist, wildlife biologist, or ecologist with some previous experience in environmental planning. In this role you will have the opportunity to perform all aspects of environmental planning. Grow your career through assisting with larger scale projects, from concept through project completion. Projects include airport, light-rail, high-speed rail, other transit, and general transportation projects.
Primary Focus will include:
Support a variety of transportation related projects in planning and permitting.
Perform analyses and supporting the team to meet the requirements of the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Section 4(f) of the Department of Transportation Act of 1966, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, and Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act (ESA).
Work with multidisciplinary teams to compile and deliver information to resource agencies in support of local, state, and federal environmental permitting processes.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Biology, Environmental Science, GIS, Ecology, Wildlife Science, Sustainability, or related field and 3 years related professional experience
Master's Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Biology, Environmental Science, GIS, Ecology, Wildlife Science, Sustainability, or related field and 2 years of relevant experience
What You'll Need
Research data sources, gathers data, and conducts analysis of data for use in projects.
Identifies planning and analysis strategies using tools such as GIS, traffic, or safety software to manipulate data, assess scenarios, and perform project analysis.
Investigates, evaluates, and provides recommendations on planning processes and technical solutions that best meet the project needs.
Leads aspects of internal and external coordination with project team members, including other discipline areas involved with the project.
Participates in client meetings and interactions.
Leads preparation of maps, exhibits, and presentation materials for projects.
Conducts or directs research on issues, policies, and concepts pertaining to planning, and formulates recommendations.
Participates in the development of conceptual planning alternatives for urban and transportation planning projects
Writes major sections of and leads production of plans, studies, reports, and environmental documents for transportation and infrastructure projects.
Participates in public process and stakeholder facilitation.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Master's Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, or related field and 3 years of relevant experience
