Sr Principal Antenna Engineer
Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RIS) has an exciting career opportunity for an Antenna Engineer who is seeking to utilize their strong academic background and experience in antenna/RF system theory and design, including architectures, subsystems, components and Active Electronically Steered Antennas (AESAs) to join our Specialty Apertures and Radomes Section in the Antenna Core Products Department. This position is located in McKinney, TX and will support a diverse portfolio of internally and externally funded antenna research and technology development programs.
The successful candidate will have significant expertise in antennas and RF design, hardware integration onto platforms, as well as proven leadership skills to effectively lead multi-disciplinary teams in program execution. The candidate will have a solid foundation in antenna engineering with an in-depth understanding of antenna theory, phased arrays, antenna requirement evaluation and simulation, fabrication best practices/processes as well as antenna test and verification.
Required Skills :
Minimum 12 years of related work experience.
Solid understanding of antenna engineering principles.
Experience with design of antennas (spiral, Vivaldi, slot, horn, patch, ect),
Demonstrated ability to apply significant technical expertise in RF engineering and to leverage knowledge of other related disciplines.
Knowledge of Printed Wiring Board (PWB) or printed circuit board (PCB) fabrication processes and design rules.
Design experience using ANSYS Electronics Desktop (HFSS).
Experience with antenna range testing, including Far-Field and Near-Field.
Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with people at all levels and functions, provide technical leadership to groups and teams as well as mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
Excellent communication skills, as the position requires interfacing with internal and external customers to report technical, cost and schedule status.
Experience using AutoCAD, SENTRi, Xpatch, FEKO, ect.
Experience with Radar Cross Section (RCS) reduction design methods and RCS testing of antennas and low observables.
Experience running successful programs to develop antenna technology that includes technical leadership, budget and schedule management, tasking, and review of technical products from the team.
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics or related technical degree
Desired Education: Master’s or Ph.D degree in engineering, science, mathematics or related technical degree
A current active U.S. Government in-scope DoD Secret security clearance or higher is required to start with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP).
