Systems Integration Engineer

Gromelski and Associates, Inc. (GAI) partners with prime contractors to provide professional services. Key service areas include Engineering Design and Documentation; Software Development and Testing; System Integration, Testing and Evaluation; Lab Management and Field Installation; Integrated Logistics Support, Training Development and Delivery, Multimedia Support, and Technical System Support.

Job Description:

  • The System Integration Engineer will be responsible for addressing a variety of software, hardware, and infrastructure issues related to integrating a complex system of subsystems and functional capabilities in a simulated tactical lab environment. Must have a DoD Secret Clearance to begin work.

    System Integration Engineer Required Tasks:

  • Interact across the team to address matters that affect execution or performance of the project.

  • Responsible for developing, integrating, and maintaining the deployment of cloud-based solutions.

  • Responsible for integration support across the cloud infrastructure requiring systems integration skills in software, hardware, and networking.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to allow working with team members for improving the company’s engineering tools, systems and procedures, and data security.

    System Integration Engineer Tasks May Include:

  • Support the design, build, deployment, and configuration management for the work generated by a DevSecOps Scrum team in order to ensure impeccable features and functionality of the product.

  • Implementing dynamic cloud-based architectures consisting of virtualized resources that support multi-tiered HA/Clustered applications, services, databases, and capabilities using various hypervisors, platforms, and operating systems.

  • Implementing virtualized servers, clients, tools, and infrastructure.

  • Resolving build and installation issues.

  • Supporting partner organizations.

    Systems Integration Engineer Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of three (3) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience deploying, configuring or architecting virtualization or cloud-based solutions.

  • Experience defining and architecting end-to-end data flow architecture and data management systems.

  • Experience performing data center architecture and design, consolidation, optimization, administration, engineering, and management of private and hybrid cloud environments.

  • Knowledge or experience with container technologies such as Docker, ECS, Fargate, etc.

  • A self-starter with strong integration skills and able to work independently and handle multiple integration aspects of a program.

  • Demonstrated experience and success collaborating in a team environment for system development and integration, with strong knowledge of system hardware and software configuration, networking, and hardware stand-up and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with compiling, installing, running, and testing functional segments (including third-party software) and making modifications to support different hardware and network configurations.

  • Strong Linux experience with the ability to create and edit scripts (i.e., bash, csh, ksh, and tclsh), along with software debugging/troubleshooting experience.

  • Self-motivated with strong leadership, administrative, and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent communications and organization skills.

  • Ability to be flexible, dedicated, detail-focused, and team-oriented.

  • Ability to work as a part of a diverse team.

  • Problem/issue reporting and tracking experience.

  • Must have a DoD Secret Clearance to begin work.

    System Integration Engineer Desired Skills:

  • Experience in program execution in Agile environments and system engineering of large, complex systems.

  • Experience deploying the complete DevSecOps lifecycle including integration of build pipelines, automated deployments, and compliance scanning using test drive development.

  • Knowledgeable in software programming languages (i.e., C++, Java).

  • Networking skills; familiar with Cisco router and switches.

  • Experience with software compilation utilities (i.e., GIT, Jenkins, Artifactory and Gradle).
