Summary: Under limited supervision, prepare and support month end close processes, account reconciliations and audit support; including providing guidance and direction on accounting related matters to other functional areas, team members and counterparts. This is an entry level position of the Accounting Associate series and performs assignments across a variety of sub-processes. This position requires a strong work ethic and communication skills, and the ability to work independently. We are in a fast paced environment, looking for individuals with diverse skills looking to grow.

Prepare account analyses and reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts.
Perform analytics on key balance sheet and P&L activity and identify drivers for variances
Assist with special projects in support of integration and harmonization across global FSS, as well as alignment with AbbVie FSS team
Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures, including all sox and audit controls
Prepare general ledger journal entries in support of cash, netting, accruals, prepaids and other payroll related activities
Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes with a continuous process improvement mindset
Prepare schedules for monthly and quarterly reviews
Answer accounting and financial questions as needed to support key business areas
Perform the processing of functional and benefits expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, if necessary.
Prepare inter-company recharges and performs monthly reconciliations of inter-company balances with counter-parties
Qualifications
Required Knowledge and Skills :
Knowledge of :
• Strong computer skills including advanced excel knowledge.
• Business English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
• Analytic and problem solving skills a must
• Knowledge of SAP, BPC is a plus.
• Ability to work in fast pace environment
• Ability to effectively multi-task operations / projects within given deadlines
Skill in:
• Follow Up - Timely and active responses to inquiries from management and stakeholders
• Interpreting and following instructions and procedures, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Proficient in reading, writing and speaking in English.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions : Incumbents in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an office environment.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and 1-2+ years of experience
CPA license preferred.
Significant Work Activities
Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)
