Sodexo Executive Director, Facilities Operations in Los Angeles, California
Reporting to the Senior Vice President-Universities, you will be responsible for all services including but not limited to food services, facilities services, grounds, student housing, construction project management, concierge services. Large international population that demands authenticity with a highly engaged client liaison to ensure high level execution.
This opportunity requires an innovative and creative approach with experience managing university auxiliary services .
The successful candidate will:
Influence client decisions based on market research and emerging trends needed to support new and existing concepts, innovations, student meal plans, housing, facilities services, and other auxiliary services.
Manage relationship with our Partners in Energy, Project Funding, Transportation & Parking and Concert & Events.
As a member of our senior management team you will have the opportunity to perform a variety of duties to include ensuring unit managers are following corporate, regional and financial goals.
Demonstrate leadershipthat can help people translate vision into practical, actionable, measurable, and cost-effective approaches and tactics that make sense for the business.
Possess the ability to interpret, analyze, and explain financial information. This includes understanding financial data and accurately interpreting financial statements and reports, and identifying the key factors affecting the financial performance of the business.
Responsibly manage theoverall operation, growth, and profitability of the contract. The ideal candidate will have extensive leadership experience managing large teams in complex educational auxiliary services departments.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will have strong strategic leadership, solid understanding of business diagnostics, financial acumen, talent management, strong communication, Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) experience and project management skills.

Overseeproposal development activities, including positioning, strategy development, customer negotiations, contract review, and pricing/costing. Potential to grow from 2 service lines to 16 and an estimated total revenue of $60M.
Bachelor’s Degree required and Master’s Degree preferred.
Demonstrateexperience managing facilities in a complex, multi-site organization. Must understand Facilities Management Operations, Engineer (mechanical, electro-mechanical or construction).
Resolveclient issues and concerns with agility and professionalism. Establish organizational protocols and systems to identify client issues, trends, and opportunities and effectively integrate them into area strategies.
Hire and develop talent. Provide positive and constructive feedback through coaching, mentoring, and counseling.
In collaboration with Sales and Brand Teams, design and implement Strategic Partnership programs that create value for New Mexico State University. Responsible for communication and marketing plans.
Establishvisibility and relevance for Sodexo by preparing presentations to management groups, leadership groups and boards to explain the company’s market position and initiatives. CO equal pay act pay range for this role: $92,900 to $162,800.

The Executive Director of Facilities Operations leads or directs facilities maintenance operations of building(s) and property at a single mega-site or multi-site unit. This position may function as head of a small mega-site unit with three levels of management reporting up to this position; or may assist in the leadership of a large mega or multi-site unit reporting up to a VP, Facilities Operations. The Executive Director of Facilities Operations leads or assists in the integration of processes within the client organization to maintain and develop agreed services which support and improve the effectiveness of its primary activities. At the organizational level, the Executive Director of Facilities Operations may contribute to the delivery of strategic and operational objectives by reducing facility costs, and improving the productivity, revenue generating capacity and image of the entire organization. This position ensures a safe and efficient working environment, essential to the performance of the business. The Executive Director of Facilities Operations often manages construction work and may coordinate and/or oversee contracted services for major construction. The position often manages other core Sodexo services, and/or logistics of business/operations services, e.g., grounds keeping, laundry, food, security, inventory, mail, concierge services.

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 7 years
Basic Functional Experience- 7 years in facilities management, engineering, management of business/operations service in both soft and hard facilities services
