Job Title: Finance Administrator, Warner Chappell
A little bit about our team:
Warner/Chappell Music, the global music publishing company of Warner Music Group, is home to a wide array of legendary songwriters and a rich catalogue of contemporary hits and influential standards. With a history dating back more than 200 years, Warner Chappell currently publishes and administers music from Barry Gibb, Eric Clapton, Nate Ruess, Lizzo, Green Day, Katy Perry, Kendrick Lamar, Led Zeppelin, Stormzy, Madonna, Muse, Radiohead, Dave and Tove Lo, among many others.
The UK finance team is comprised of 5 people, who collectively report in to the Regional Finance Director (Europe), who is also based in the London office. The team is responsible for the recording of all financial transactions affecting the Warner/Chappell UK business, as well as partnering with other departments including A&R, Sync/Licensing, Legal & Business Affairs, Royalties, Copyright, Human Resources and Facilities.
Here you’ll get to:
Monitor multiple bank accounts across various entities, in GBP and USD, and log all transactions in the cash book
Input all cash transactions for posting in the finance system
Initial point of contact for all purchase invoices queries; coordinating with department heads to have invoices approved for payment
Coding all purchase invoices and inputting into the finance system
Inputting sales invoices into the finance system
Set up electronic payments as and when required using online banking system
Maintain up-to-date management reports (synch revenue, advance spend, production music foreign income tracker etc)
Reconcile GBP and USD bank accounts from bank statement to general ledger
Preparation of month end journals (allocation of costs between reporting entities, prepayments, fixed asset depreciation etc)
Various balance sheet reconciliations
- Ad-hoc project work as and when required
A passion for music and a strong desire to learn about the music publishing industry
Great organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail
First class communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships
Confidence in using Microsoft Excel (experience of intermediate formulas e.g. VLOOKUP, SUMIF, IFERROR is a plus but not required)
A team player who is happy to ‘muck in’ – no task is too big or small
