Utah State University Business Intelligence Analyst in Logan, Utah
The Business Intelligence Analyst in the Office of Analysis, Assessment, & Accreditation performs simultaneous and interconnecting activities that advance the data-informed mission of Utah State University. Duties include extracting, organizing, designing, and maintaining data and dashboards for stakeholders across campus, ensuring a high level of understanding and usability for all stakeholders. This position will report to the Assistant Director of Business Intelligence & Reporting.
Meets with stakeholders to determine business intelligence data needs.
Collects, analyzes, interprets, and summarizes data.
Collaborates with Programmer/Analyst to design and develop specific reports/tools for collection, tracking, and reporting of data as appropriate.
May write queries to create views and extract data from multiple databases.
Creates data visualizations and dashboards in Tableau.
May provide training on Tableau and other data science programs for the education of the campus community.
Serves on committees as requested.
Proposes and implements solutions as appropriate to assist management in planning.
Miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 2 years of related experience.
Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze data and generate reports.
Knowledge of SQL.
Knowledge of Tableau.
Experience using Microsoft Excel.
Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and drive to innovate.
Ability to work with various stakeholders across an organization.
Ability to multitask and prioritize independently.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Desire and demonstrated ability to learn and deploy new skills and knowledge.
Significant experience using Tableau for data review and analysis.
Ability to write custom queries using SQL.
Advanced experience using Microsoft Excel for data review and analysis.
Ability to utilize statistical computer software for data analysis.
